I'm sure you can do it. It took a lot of patience and blood to sew the soles. It's about 30secs to 1 minute (no exaggeration) per stitch because I was being very careful.

Today is my birthday. One of the good things that happened is that my TJack faceshell+lenses combo arrived! Talk about a sweet gift. To celebrate, here's a tutorial on how to cut the eye holes for your masks.

How to cut the eye holes:

You may need a stand-in head to mount your mask and faceshell. I bought this one in particular: Amazon.com: Case Pack of 1 Giell Styrofoam Foam Mannequin Wig Head Display Male White: Beauty

Step 1: Mount your mask on the styrofoam head WITH THE FACESHELL (really important if you want to get the eye measurements right). Make sure that the center webbing of the mask is at the center of the head, just right above the nose bridge. Take your time aligning the mask. It's really important that it's aligned correctly.

Step 2: Measure the distance between your eyes. Take that distance and divide it by two. That number will then be the center of your mask (Thanks, Lunaman, for this info). For example, my distance was 8cm. Which means 4 is my center. Refer to the picture:

Step 3: Using a fabric marker, make little circles to mark where you're going to cut your mask. Use the measurement you took above to gauge the distance from the center of the mask for each eye. Make small ones first. You can always adjust the size later when you get it right (Thanks again, Lunaman, for the info). I used an orange marker.

Step 4: Remove the mask from the stand-in head. Flip it inside out. Depending on what marker you used, you will see some sort of a mark. Use that as your reference point for cutting the eye holes. Again, cut small holes first!

Step 5: Flip the mask over again and you're done! This is what the eye holes look like.

The fabric will not unravel if you used 4-way stretch Lycra. If you want, you can reinforce the holes by stitching them or putting glue to be sure they don't grow any bigger.

It's 4cm from the center. Refer to the picture on my post. You'll see that I used 4cm as the center.

I started sewing the other sole but my fine needle broke. I won't be able to finish this suit until next week. Such bad luck.

Thanks, Nick. Basically, Orhadar instructed me to do exactly the first post I did above. And yes, I did resize it linearly... The process I went through is on the first post. I'm not really well-versed in Photoshop to manipulate pictures and still retain quality. It actually took me several hours just to resize the file. I was very skeptical while doing it too. I actually just went with my gut and jumped the gun. And believe me, I'm still worried about the suit not fitting me... If anything, I'll discuss details with TrophyWife and see if she can adjust the hands and legs to fit.

And about resizing linearly, does it mean you resized only the height, not the width? Or the height and width are linked together, like, if you change one, another one changes too?

Thanks for the compliment. The suit is nearly finished. I'm just waiting for the needles and pens to arrive.

You got it right - the height and width are linked together. It also means I didnt resize it according to my specific body measurements; just the size of the overall pattern.

The mask is attached to the suit, so it was resized along with the entire pattern. Although I have a detachable extra mask. I resized that according to the sized of the attached mask.

Slight update:

The soles have been successfully sewn into the suit. I haven't had the chance to wear the suit yet so I don't have pictures. A word of advice if you plan to sew your soles: make sure you take your time between each stitch. It's very easy to make mistakes especially if you're not used to it. It took me about 6 hours to sew both soles.

I ordered TJack's ASM1 lenses and universal faceshell. I reshaped them similar to how a lot of our members here did. There's a lot of tutorials here to show you how to. I recommend IronJoe's or Lunaman's build thread for reshaping the lenses. I'll drill eye and breathing holes later when I'm satisfied with the lenses.

I borrowed Lunaman's idea of using splatter screen to create a mesh. This is how it looks so far:

The lenses are attached with rare earth magnets.

I plan to paint the mesh white and put another mesh at the bottom. I'm also playing with the idea of painting it metallic gold. There's a lot of ideas I have to make these lenses, and they're all very exciting.

Thanks for the compliments. I'm glad you found my tutorials helpful. I'm sure you can build an even cooler looking suit if you put the time and effort to it.

Even though that pattern is different from mine, you did the distance measuring right. Although I cannot guarantee it will fit you perfectly, I can give you my opinion. From my experience, I suggest sizing the pattern to 26'' distance, no less. 25'' has been a little small for me after being sewn. It fits, for sure, but it's a little too tight and short for my body.

Thanks for the advice, but im stuck with another issue, im using kens pattern, and i dont know what happend when i finished resizing the psd file, first i saved to cymk mode and then saved as jpg, and the colors got really odd... i dont know if im doing that part rigth, could you tell me where id go wrong please? thanks man

Who faceshell is that, is that tjack ams2 universe faceshell or tjack combo faceshell ?,,can you show me pic of mask on it

TASM 2 universal it looks like.
The combo shell has a built in lens depression in the shape of the lenses, as well as pre-drilled air holes.

No they r not the same.

They are based o different size.
The combo version has "dull" for the lenses so they "sink" in. Sorry i dont know better words to discribe it in english

As indicated on the post you quoted, that's TJack's ASM2 universal faceshell. They have about the same shape as the ASM2 combo but the universal faceshell has grooves for the lenses to sit in. The universal faceshell does not.
