UK Prop Party - confirmed 19th 20th November

The stand was looming great tonight, even though it's half finished.

Great to meet the mighty fettster

Sees you bad boys tomorrow

Cheers

Alas my wife's work has kept us at home - people keep insist on having babies at any time they please, it's terribly inconvenient :(

Have a great time, take lots of photos and share them!

Just getting into prop making and signed up to RPF, sadly didn't see this thread till a few days ago which was far to late notice!!! Hope the weekends going really well? Now I have a year to get good at prop making and to produce enough stuff to display lol. Looking forward to hearing how succesful this event was and getting to know all in the UK prop community!!!

Words cannot describe how well today has gone at the NEC Birmingham

If i were to tell you that the RPF Stand stole the show and quickly became the center attraction i wouldnt be lying.

We had to steady the flow of people itching to get into looking at the props by erecting and entrance area we split the stands into 2 sections, The RPF covering all movie Genre and the Dented Helmet section looking after Star Wars

Its been such a fantastic day, there are just too many highlights to talk about so i will just name a few

The Display area was awsome
The UK RPF members i met were awsome too
Fettsters SPFX Make Up demo
The guy getting scared half to death by the RPF's pet Zombie

ive left my camera at the venue so unable to give a sneek peek which means more photos for you to view tomorrow

I managed to make it there and the RPf stand was indeed the highlight of the show. The displays were fantastic and looked so professional. I was able to get to get a couple of pics.

Top marks guys... Great to meet some new and old faces.

Great displays and a friendly atmosphere.

Top marks

Shame the rest of you missed it today...

Cheers

I went to the memorabilia show today (first one ever), and the RPF stall was awesome, loads of people all crowding around it and asking questions. I got the wife and kids to come along and we had a really great time. It was cool meeting some of the other members on here like supertroop and their pet zombie scared my eldest to bits (it was a really good job) and I had to explain to him it was a demonstration of movie makup. Now On Friday, a mate at work mentioned he'd read in our local paper about a Tron stall or something that was going to be there, so I went armed just in case. I now have a new prized possession in the form of a special addition Tron DVD I had that's now signed by Tron himself, Bruce Boxlietner! I told him about the Tron Discography project I'm working on with TheMuffin and Davlin from this forum, and he was really into the idea and wished us good luck with it, It was then (as a total noob to theses things) as I gave him the DVD insert he had to prompt me to give him in my daze, that I realised I had to pay for the signing. I went over to my wife who had just arrived (armed with our kids and the pushchair as I had left them all behind when I saw a guy with a signed Tron pic walk by and made a b line in the direction he had come from) to get some cash and she chose that moment to have a go at me about rushing off (fair cop), Bruce thought she was arguing about money and he shouted "it was ok, you can have this one on me" and gave me the signing for free, what a dude! His agent sat next to him had such a scowl I nearly laughed out lou... oh yeh, I did laugh out loud. Man I was literally shaking with exited nerves afterward (god I hate myself for being so star struck, BUT I JUST MET TRON!!!! Woooot), I was the last person to get a signing from him as well, I just can't believe my luck, it's never usually that good.

Thanks for an awesome time, my kids are going to be talking about it for ages and I hope to have a stand for my discography display next year.

:thumbsup

What a great great great day, it was an absolute pleasure to have been apart of this. I'm just sad that I'm now at home and not joining in the fun tomorrow. Make sure you guys dont let Phil take his Falcon down to the Lake as he's convinced it would make a good Skimmer..... Crazy but he may be right.

All the display's looked incredible and Like Simon said it REALLY did steel the show.

Sorry I'm not there at the hotel now having a beer, next time for sure.
It was an absolute pleasure to represent the RPF and not just use it to show off my bad grammar and terrible spelling.

Hope you all have a great great great day tomorrow.

Just to follow up on what Guy said, yeah, a great day, Simon, Rob etc, worked there butts off to make this work, and id sure did.

Cant say the stand had a breather all day, and it was hard to even move around, so there ya go, we hit 'em all with shock and awe lol.

BIG highlight for me being a studio scale trainspotter, Phil Browns (possibly the nicest guy in studio scale ) Falcon, probably the most beautiful model ive ever seen, Phil, your talent is amazing, it really did make my day to see your 32" bird in the flesh....giddy like a schoolgirl lol.

So, id like to thank ALL the guys involved in this, Simon, Rob, and the other guys who made it possible, well done guys, it wasnt easy for you i know....but YOU DID IT!

Anyhoo, enough waffle, a few pics.

bests......lee

Brian, Simon....and some fella from some kinda Sci Fi movie?

Elsa, my better half and RPF cake baker, with our two youngest lads, they really can now see why we boys spend all our spare time in a room looking at model kit parts and bits of cloth, i think you lot really impressed them!

Gutted I couldn't be there guys. Looks like I'm missing a great weekend and a chance to meet you all. But with number 2 imminent I just couldn't risk not being here for my wife.
Maybe next year!
Looks fantastic. :thumbsup

The display looks amazing and that Falcon is beautiful! Wish I could have been there. I had planned on coming up but I am neither a man nor a mouse. ;)

I will definately try to have a display for next year. Thanks supatroop, I d have loved to have a proper chat with you but as you said, you guys were rammed. I hope today goes just as well for you, have a good one.

Here's a couple of pictures of my boys that day. They both had their costumes and put them on as soon as we got inside. Finn was just a bit too shy to have his picture taken with anyone but R2 (bless him).
