UK Prop Party - confirmed 19th 20th November

Im not sure if you were aware of this but Memorabilia has been taken over by new people, their plan in the future is to get the event back to its old glory days, i think we will become a permenant fixture there once a year.

Ahhh that starts to explain it, I remember only a few years ago meeting Kevin Conroy (Batman), Dave Prowse, Jeremy Bullock and Peter Mayhew all on the same day...they just don't get so many big names all on the same day anymore...here's hoping to a brighter future for Memorabilia and the involvement of the RPF. Still had a great time and spent ages checking out all there was on show on the RPF stand, also scored the kind of bargin that I thought was a thing of the past, vintage Star Wars Yak Face figure for £2.00 less than 10 meters away from the RPF stand!

Simon, are there any plans to expand the UK RPF prop party to the UK RPF roadshow tour, and to attend more events all over the UK?

I know that at Collectormania Glasgow, Reverend Scapegoat already has a presence with the Colonial Marines / prop display.

This is just SOOOOO Awesome! Makes my whole day! Nothing like seeing both the RPF and TDH together and representing our hobby in such a positive light! Thanks to everyone involved!!!

As its soooooooooooo good and funny you have to be a premium member to see it :love

Yup yup, support the RPF and jump right in, c,mon fella's, its not a lot of money.
Simon, been really thinking about this, reckon, closer our time for these show's, maybe a small donation fund set up by Art, and then spread out by you and Rob...may a good thing?
Rob and Co put his hand in pocket for us here, seems fitting we may be able to throw something into the pot for next year?

bests.....lee

There are massive plans in the pipeline to take this on the road.

I'm currently having discussion's with Art and rob from the TDH about future plans and event's we are hoping to bring in the Hunters Lair and have a bigger influence from the Studio Scaled Model section too.

We are setting up a little team of people as this has the potential to grow rather quickly and be to much work for just 2 people.

One thing i can and will confirm we will not be present at any Collectomania event's, there is a prefectly good reason for this and one that i will have the full backing from the events team with.

Hey all, I dunno where to start..sorry for the late post...needed to watch x factor with the folks when I got home, requirements as a hubby and a dad.., needs must eh :wacko?

So..back to the world of dreams :lol..Just want to say, what a fantastic weekend ! It was great to meet Lee & Guy, and everyone else too. I looked at the center table and thought the only explanation for those things being on it, was that we must have raided the LFL archive for those to be there...it was hard to believe.

All the props were stunning though, Richard's Superman, Joker & Zod are truly amazing. Alison and Jude's costume work is beautiful to say the least. Rob and Simon..RS Props.. have done fantastic work on the trooper and fett gear, really looking forward to all the things you have in the pipeline guys, and the tales of the history of the Trooper suit are now the stuff of legend !. I loved all the TDH display, and I was really impressed with Birdie's armoury, especially the firefly weapons,..that box he had was like a tardis...just kept pulling new things out of there..

Finally, I need to say a huge thank you to Simon, I know he had a lot of help, and big thanks to all who helped..but I need to thank him the most 'cos he's been the driving force to make it all possible. He and I go way back the the early UK Garrison days, and I have nothing but respect for him for all he's done to bring this event about. It was great to meet up again after all this time. You did a totally top job mate, and don't let anyone ever tell ya different !! I can't wait for the next bigger and better one !!

And now for a short interlude...piccys...

R2 always blows me away !

Great to hear!

Whilst i was tied up with work for this event, i am definitely up for anything else that might come along as long as it's not a million miles away.

Now you'll need to tell me, why not collectormania?, not because i have an invested interest, mainly because i am a nosey git!

Yay, what a weekend :thumbsup

Had the greatest time meeting all the guys at the show, Si did a magnificent job organising everything, and it was terrific putting names to faces of all you guys that came along and supported us, have some fantastic conversations and make a bunch of new friends.

Defefinteley not enough pics of guns in this thread though :lol

Will try and do something to fix that up after unloading the rest rest of my stuff from the car, have spent most of the day in bed :love

What a great event, met some people i hadnt seen for ages and met a lot of cool rpf people. Some awesome props too and a great set-up.

Just to reiterate what everyone said, si you did an awesome job, and heres to bigger and better things in the future!!

Now all they need to do is get more traders like the old says and mem will be back to its former glory!

Thanks Paul,

im so sorry i didnt get to chat with you more i looked around and you had gone im glad you enjoyed it though

im just going to give a little heads up here for everyone before this thread disappears into the depths of the RPF archive :lol

Iv'e spent a lot of today looking around a lot of other forum's and its fair to say our RPF display area made quite an impression. Hopefully coming on board for the next one will be members from the Hunter's Lair, that will be all 3 forum's under one banner.

Next year the plan is to hit Manchester and London and Birmingham again

however a little birdie (not the member:lol) tells me that StarWars Celebration is heading to Orlando next year hmmmmmmmmmmmmm could we really pull off an International RPF meet

We could all hop in Phil's Falcon and shoot over. I went to CIII and to be honest it was a let down aside from the Irvin K talk and Family Guy Star Wars first look. THe prop and costume display wasn't as good as ours :lol

Be worth it just to have a fight with LFL Lawyers :lol
