UD Replicas Captain America TFA review

@David I ordered a joker goon jacket(as well as 3 other suits) from you based on sizing charts pretty sure the label is wrong as its small on my tiny wife. not sure what routes I choose to rectify this add it was a while ago but if your willing to look into this matter it would mean a lot to me.

As for the fit on the rest of the suits I had trouble with my first tdk suit and would not be able to even put it on without removing body armor which is not so bad since I'm not riding... After this I decided to contact David before placing any more orders and he was very specific in telling me that I would have trouble fitting his suits do to my big shoulders and thin waist, and was very helpful.. don't know know if Canadians are tiny people but I wish he would make a more athletic fit lol

By the way I'm more than happy with the quality of udr's products I have 3 complete suits but unless the sizing is changed I won't be able to order anymore because I'm not getting any smaller working out.

Ditto on the big shoulders and tiny waist. Glad everything turned out well however when my CATFA suit came in. How about it David, maybe in the next round of specialized suits you can tailor it to be a little more athletic proportionate?

I was to chime in, but Dave said more than anyone else could say. I got the chance to say hi and talk with him a bit at C6, and I wish I could get one of his cap suits, but sadly the last day to order is coming up too soon.

As David told many folks at CVI and here in the Official TFA UD thread, the Cap Am suit is Sold Out and there will not be another run. :(

Such an amazing looking suit. Count yourself very lucky to own such a work of art!

I am proud to be one of the owners of these suits and would gladly do business with them again if they can do an Avengers-style Cap suit.

Well I guess 48" U.S. must be different than Pakistan & Canada ,so your "no returns "policy would be void when the product measurements fail to match the advertised measurements. I'm ok. since I re-sold the costume but if anyone else is having the same problem don't let them tell you your stuck with it
Sorry for the delay, but as has been mentioned already I was at C6 in Florida all last week.

Now, a few things about the fit of all of our goods....

Everything we offer is so ridiculously custom in its design and execution that we created our OWN size charts for ensuring proper fit.

Not only, but the Cap chart asks you to add 2 inches to your chest and 2 inches to your waist for the proper fit of garment...the pants ask for 1 inch on the waist and 1 on the hips.

Failing to do that, it's rather certain that these goods will NOT fit in the desired way...which is also why we encourage everyone to take their body measurements and call me so that I can tell you personally what size you need to fit your body.

Next, if this was not purchased for use as a riding suit then naturally it's not going to fit UNLESS you remove all of the body armor from the garments. In total they take away about 2 inches of fit...so if someone calls and speaks with me about sizing....my very first question is always "Are you going to use this for riding, as an actual riding suit?" If your answer is NO, then we look at sizing with a better fit to your body...but NATURALLY you have to remove the body armor from the goods in order for it to fit properly.
These goods come standard with the body armor and it's only going to make wearing the goods difficult and probably too tight if they were not purchased as riding gear.

So, that said....let's recap...
- You must use your own body measurements, not existing garment sizes for fit.
- Speaking to me personally about sizing will ensure proper fit prior to ordering.
- Removing the body armor is up to you to do...and it's easy, but failing to do so will result in goods simply being too small.

thundrkiss,
I keep all my notes from every single phone call and customer I speak to. Can you tell me when you ordered so that I can pull up my records and see what body measurements you gave me, leading to the sizes you ordered ultimately?
I also need to know the name that the order was placed under...that you can PM me here privately.
Do you still have your body measurements, the ones you gave me at the time of your purchase?

I'd also like to continue this publicly. Considering the assumption that it's always the companies fault if goods don't fit...I'd like to now publicly get to the bottom of why this has happened, and at that point I'll be able to see how to handle this. Anyone who knows me, or how UD Replicas is run will tell you that I/we NEVER assume to be perfect, and errors from time to time can and unfortunately WILL happen. It's all part of being human...and if we have made a mistake, then simply put I personally take care of the issue. :thumbsup So I'd very much like to do that here...get to the bottom of this. Okay? :cool

Not only but yes, we are behind on emails. Nearly 7,000 from SDCC alone and a little over half that NOW from last week while I was at SW C6 so yes...I do acknowledge the lack of immediate or acceptable time in email responses but this is why the RPF is such a valuable tool.:thumbsup Discussing YOUR specific order here will allow for thousands to see just what transpired and how it happened. I think this is not only important, but it'll allow me to stay on top of this for you and deal with it instantly.:)

As was also posted above, yes...there are no returns or exchanges of any kind. To be frank, I produce what you order...so when someone orders an XL we produce and deliver an XL. It's the customers' responsibility to ensure that they're ordering the right size. That's why the size chart is clearly detailed for our Capt Suit...and why I speak to every single customer that calls in for sizing help.

thundrkiss I await the details requested so that we can get this resolved for you.

Thanks!

David

I just got my Captain America suite. For riding, it appears the suite will provide high protection. The detail is amazing and the materials used seem to be very high grade.

When I ordered I had 2 people measure me, added the inches specified and the jacket and pants are still to small. Not sure what can be done of this, I know when ordering its clearly specifies no returns or exchanges, but Im hoping someone for UD Replicas will contact me this week (sent a message via their website).

The boots, gloves and belt fit perfectly and everything looks awesome.
Cant wait to hopefully get a jacket and pants that fit and hop on my harley
(matching colors haha) and go for a ride.

Is it still really snug even with the armor padding?

We don't sell products by garment sizes. Our goods are sized from XXS - XXL. We don't have a 48. As I stated before, our goods respect our size chart but sizing needs to begin and end by following our instructions...no assumptions can be made and I'm very VERY thorough when I speak with customers regarding this.

It has nothing to do with Canada or Pakistan...if you take PROPER measurements...then add 2 inches to your chest and waist...those new measurements are what the goods need to be purchased under...there is no size 48 jacket. If that has anything to do with how you purchased the goods in question then that right there says it all. Measurements don't lie, and for that matter numbers are no different in Canada, the USA or Pakistan.

Furthermore, back in Aug...in good faith I asked you to contact me with your original measurements. Here's my quote:

thundrkiss,

You chose to do none of the above and insist that there's something wrong with sizing. Having failed to contact me, when I clearly made an effort to reach out to you...now 3 months later makes this all a mute point of discussion. I never told you 'you were stuck' with anything. I asked you to contact me to review how and why this happened and going by your original measurements. You chose not too...but I did offer to help.

Considering the thousands of garments shipped to date, our process for sizing works....this was not a case of improper sizing as you continue to insist because our goods do match the size chart. When someone purchases a Medium jacket, we produce and ship a medium jacket...but it's up to the customer to take proper body measurements so that I can be sure that a Medium jacket is what's needed.

imeson52
I offer you the same....call me with the measurements you used for sizing and let's see how you ended up with the sizes assigned. 905-751-1800

Sizing is very straight forward, as the thousands of customers serviced to date can attest to. If something doesn't fit after the fact...I can assure you that there's always a reason for it but I can't determine that reason UNLESS you contact me with your original logic used or measurements taken at the time.

David,

To prove your critics wrong, have another run of TFA uniforms. :cool
I will serve as a test subject for final proof of concept by providing my measurements over the phone.
Few garments fit me straight off the rack, the 'industry' standard for a leather jacket on me can vary from medium long to x-large regular.
I buy the suit, following your directions, and when it fits enough said.

I'd love to...but our licensing with Marvel has run its course.:cool And, in all fairness, critics deserve to be heard too.

Let me also add that I've been quoted saying this a million times already....We work very hard at producing the best possible movie replica leather garments, and while we're not perfect...our 75% repeat business track record does prove we're on the right track. I've never said to anyone 'You're stuck with it!' in a scenario of non fitting goods. But, in order for me to see if we've overlooked something or figure out why this happened...we need to go back to how the goods were ordered in the first place.

When someone posts under a different name then what their order was placed under...I have no way of knowing who that customer is and can do nothing more until I'm contacted...I don't have a crystal ball, but have always offered to personally help in cases like this. Fortunately, they're rare at best...but does it happen? Yes...and I'm always available to figure out why.
This is our standard procedure...and if we've made a mistake...I personally take care of it...but if it turns out there was no error on our part, then we explore other means to resolve the situation.

:thumbsup

David is bang on. He always, ALWAYS, has taken care of customer issues as long as the customer was willing to contact and work with him on the issue.

I've had two sizing calls to David for confirmation before ordering which he handled perfectly and also two concerns that I had once the garment arrived. Both of those concerns were addressed immediately and resolved beyond my satisfaction.
The reason I am such an adamant supporter of David and Co. is because of his outstanding commitment to customer service, and the phenomenal products he makes.

Just a quick update...imeson52 called in earlier on so he and I are gong to figure out why his goods are too tight. Once I know why, I'll know how to best resolve this for him. :thumbsup

Once again, thank you!!! :thumbsup

I was lucky enough to try a size which fit me before ordering mine,

Med jacket and SM pants and the fitting was perfect on me, the jacket is nice and snug looks custom fit to my body, I have 42" chest 35" waist fortunately for me I know what to expect.

I realize that something this custom as is the case with David's products, can be frustrating. The rewards are well worth it. We rarely take our body measurements for garments nowadays and for the CATFA suit I see quite a few people expressing sizing concerns. That shouldn't take anything away from the quality of the product itself as I am completely enamored with mine. There isn't a corner cut, nor a shortcut taken. This looks as it does in the movie and to that, thank you David. For those with size concerns, I know your issues will be taken care of.
