Well just got back in town to see my package arrived.
Yea!

opening it up to find a great looking suit, First to try on is the jacket,

can't get my arm in the sleeve ,

maybe I'll loosen up the arm straps and remove the armor.

This seems very small, I measured it and its a 44" chest (medium) not a 50"( xxl) that it is labeled, W.T.F?

O.K. lets try out the pants

strike two, they are labeled xl (42.5")but are actually more of a medium (38.5") which are more like hip huggers as apposed to riding pants even the belt is wrong .

On the bright side the gloves and boots fit well

Is anyone else having issues with mislabeled items?

I know someone how received gloves and belt and they were very disappointed in the quality of the product and nothing fit.

Got it, not sure if I want to sell it yet . I want them to make it right first ,but from what I hear that's a long shot.
I gotta wait till Monday and see if they return my emails, I doubt it though since they never returned any in the past...:unsure

I've seen lots of members post about sizing issues. Personally I'd say pick up the phone and give them a call Monday

Man, that's a heckuva problem and not one anyone would want given how much these suits go for. I really hope you'll be able to get this problem sorted out. Have you tried hitting them up on Facebook and (possibly) not wait until Monday for some sort of reply? They've been pretty quick to reply to a post there I've noticed.

Off subject and just curious...when did you order your suit and how long did it take to have it delivered?

Good luck.

Long time viewer or RPF and if I possess nearly half of the skills everyone else here has for making costumes I would dive right in! But I'm just really here to marvel in awe.

I have been waiting for someone else to post some sort of feedback to the UDReplicas of CATFA because I have one. I jumped right on the pre-orders to get my suit in time for SDCC and it couldn't have worked out better! I'll save my rants of how popping my cherry at con in a First Avenger costume was such a high for another post, for now I want to address the fitting for the UDReplicas CATFA.

When I took my measurements I knew that either the suit would be too snug or just sorta hang there. The jacket fit very very tight at first, and when I realized I can take off the padding I had some breathing room. In the first day of receiving the suit I was stuck. I could not get the sleeve off because my arms were just too big for it. My chest measurement was 42" and the jacket came in as 44" so it was fine.

The pants, David Pea said, had to be a size up for me to give it that baggy look. It worked out well. It didn't give me that skinny jeans effect and it looked like non-leather material when I wore it.

The boots were another thing. They fit perfectly in the feet area, it's just that where it has buckles on the shin area the buckles were too far in and I could barely get it to close. I took it to a cobbler and they worked their magic and moved the buckles closer to the edge and I was able to close them.

I orderd my set at the end of the first "deadline"in April and it arrived last week.

Received mine as well!! Congratulations!
Excellent quality!! The Company really pulled out all the stops!

Not sure if mine was mislabeled, however--I guess they run rather small--my jacket--although I love it, is a bit too snug for my taste--I went with an XL since every other jacket I have is the same size and they fit as I would like them to fit.
No returns or exchanges, however--so not exactly sure what my options are at this point!

I love the amount of work put in to this release and I would not trade it for anything else. Although at this point I think the OP is still sorting his issues out and best of luck to him. But I'm sure when David comes through with his five star customer service, the OP will love his purchase as much as we have.

BTW, OP how is it going with getting a hold of David from UDR?

Sorry for the delay, but as has been mentioned already I was at C6 in Florida all last week.

Now, a few things about the fit of all of our goods....

Everything we offer is so ridiculously custom in its design and execution that we created our OWN size charts for ensuring proper fit.

Not only, but the Cap chart asks you to add 2 inches to your chest and 2 inches to your waist for the proper fit of garment...the pants ask for 1 inch on the waist and 1 on the hips.

Failing to do that, it's rather certain that these goods will NOT fit in the desired way...which is also why we encourage everyone to take their body measurements and call me so that I can tell you personally what size you need to fit your body.

Next, if this was not purchased for use as a riding suit then naturally it's not going to fit UNLESS you remove all of the body armor from the garments. In total they take away about 2 inches of fit...so if someone calls and speaks with me about sizing....my very first question is always "Are you going to use this for riding, as an actual riding suit?" If your answer is NO, then we look at sizing with a better fit to your body...but NATURALLY you have to remove the body armor from the goods in order for it to fit properly.
These goods come standard with the body armor and it's only going to make wearing the goods difficult and probably too tight if they were not purchased as riding gear.

So, that said....let's recap...
- You must use your own body measurements, not existing garment sizes for fit.
- Speaking to me personally about sizing will ensure proper fit prior to ordering.
- Removing the body armor is up to you to do...and it's easy, but failing to do so will result in goods simply being too small.

thundrkiss,
I keep all my notes from every single phone call and customer I speak to. Can you tell me when you ordered so that I can pull up my records and see what body measurements you gave me, leading to the sizes you ordered ultimately?
I also need to know the name that the order was placed under...that you can PM me here privately.
Do you still have your body measurements, the ones you gave me at the time of your purchase?

I'd also like to continue this publicly. Considering the assumption that it's always the companies fault if goods don't fit...I'd like to now publicly get to the bottom of why this has happened, and at that point I'll be able to see how to handle this. Anyone who knows me, or how UD Replicas is run will tell you that I/we NEVER assume to be perfect, and errors from time to time can and unfortunately WILL happen. It's all part of being human...and if we have made a mistake, then simply put I personally take care of the issue. :thumbsup So I'd very much like to do that here...get to the bottom of this. Okay? :cool

Not only but yes, we are behind on emails. Nearly 7,000 from SDCC alone and a little over half that NOW from last week while I was at SW C6 so yes...I do acknowledge the lack of immediate or acceptable time in email responses but this is why the RPF is such a valuable tool.:thumbsup Discussing YOUR specific order here will allow for thousands to see just what transpired and how it happened. I think this is not only important, but it'll allow me to stay on top of this for you and deal with it instantly.:)

As was also posted above, yes...there are no returns or exchanges of any kind. To be frank, I produce what you order...so when someone orders an XL we produce and deliver an XL. It's the customers' responsibility to ensure that they're ordering the right size. That's why the size chart is clearly detailed for our Capt Suit...and why I speak to every single customer that calls in for sizing help.

thundrkiss I await the details requested so that we can get this resolved for you.

Thanks!

David

Thanks David--removing the armor did the trick for me--that, with a "break in period" should get me to where I want to be--so, so far so good! When I order next time, I'll be sure to go with an XXL though--can't wait to see what other Marvel properties (if any) are coming down the pike!!

Always use the size chart and measure... David has been consistent in his message when responding to these types of threads.

Good on you David for being a model of customer service :thumbsup

Awesome!! Great to hear. I did neglect to also mention the natural break in period needed for all leather goods, so yes that too is a consideration regarding all of our goods.:cool

Guys thanks, seriously. :thumbsup
Your on going support really is wonderful. :thumbsup
