Type-15 Shuttlepod from Star Trek TNG

I'm learning to use the laser cutter at my local maker space. These are from the first test runs. I was having some trouble with aligning the engraving on both sides, only to find out one of the mirrors was loose. Still, a good test run. I have samples of different colors and transparencies yet to test with.

I’m always happy to see movement on this project. I’ve watched it for a LONG time and was afraid it’d fizzled out.

Like so many others, it’s been a dream of mine since childhood to have a 1:1 shuttle pod. I’m really looking forward to the day you start sharing the framework being built.

As to your iso chips, I think they look great for a test! Hope to see some of the finished works posed here as well.

How many of the chips will removable from the various banks/slots throughout the shuttle?

For the entire shuttlepod I will need:

  • 5 light blue chips
  • 5 dark blue chips
  • 13 yellow chips
  • 39 green chips

Altogether 62 individual chips.

Very cool. Are you helping with the plans he's building off, or is it a completely separate project? Does he have a set of seats too?

Nothing to update on the project, other than it's not dead yet.

This is such a cool project. As soon as I saw the shuttle pod on TNG I knew I wanted to build a mock-up. At first, when I was in 6th grade, it was to play in, but then as I got older it was just for the fun of displaying it (and secretly still wanting to play in it!! ). Of course, that dream never manifested into reality.

Anyway, I've been watching this thread forever, I keep hoping to find that it's been finished. I understand the delay, I'm happy to know that it's hasn't died. Have you done anything to it since the last posted image? if so, I'm sure the community would love to see it.
