ATLANTHIA - You sir are my kind of costume builder, if I ever manage to get out from the sticks I'll definitely have to have a look at your build... was going to say Helmet but that would be just too weird

No probs, hopefully you'll get used to it soon enough. You should just be able to see 2 main "public access" areas. Use the "Public access (off topic)" one for saying hi

A friend told me about this thread about a week ago and I can see why he was so impressed. That's some of the best paper macheing I've ever seen. I'm really impressed.

i have got the £10 but i lack a key element, the skills. that's incredible considering the materials, seems a bit pointless me giving praise (having no knowledge/skills in the area) but amazing work never the less.

Hi dbalschi! Well, I was kind of hoping to dive in on the armour, to go with the helmet but scratch building it would be a NIGHTMARE!!!! :eek

I also want to scratch build a stormtrooper blaster, which would be a cake walk, as all the tutorials and templates are readily available. I then have to offset that against the fact that my wife thinks it would be really cool to have a display of star wars helmets!!! OMG! Did she REALLY say that!!!??? :lol

My real issue isn't the amount of choice of what to build, but more so whether I can get the correct dimensions for it. Pepakura is so hit and miss, regarding sizing. It's such a shame that all these things exist and, yet why is there not a database somewhere which does nothing BUT list all the accurate dimensions for screenused armour, or helmets etc...
it just needs someone to collate, store and display it all in one place and it would be like an oasis of "holy grail" information for an AWFUL LOT of info-starved builders! I don't have the technical knowledge OR the money to set it up, but I do know that its long overdue as a website!

So, in answer to your question..........I don't know what's next!:lol Probably a scratch built blaster or a Biker Scout helmet IF I can nail down the accurate dimensions.

this is an awsome helm - im going to do start a helmet here in a few hours using this method, but curious - how did you remove the inner skeleton when you had set it up with the hardener

Hi Azurial, and thank you. The interior was only ever made of card and sticky tape so, when it came time to remove it, it was a simple enough task as long as I took care. If you look at the early thread pics, you can see the structure BEFORE I started to wrap it in card to start the actual shape. All the 'shaping' card is still in there. I just removed the scaffolding that held it up initially. I will post a pic of the inside for you if I am still not succeeding in the clarity department :lol
