Trooping in my Colonial Marine at San Diego Comic Con

Art you lucky A-hole you! :lol

I mean, I know quite a few attractive women that get into this stuff... but you have the look of a kid who just got the keys to Willy Wonkas chocalate factory! :) Just too cute! :$

I am very very blessed for sure. Kristen's passion for this hobby is an inspiration and constant reminder of the 10s of thousands of people who visit this site and love props and costumes and reminds me what we are working so hard to develop.

So what's the current word on Aliens armor.

Last I looked into it people were getting it from the guy that did it.

Great but defintely high end prices too. As it should be.

Anything lesser that semi-skilled paint guy could do himself?

Did the proper BDU pattern get found? Available?

Tell us.

@ Scareb :lol
@ micdavis- Yeah, Terry English armor would be ideal but the price is more than I could bear. I honestly am not too sure on where for armor other than Spat but I believe it is all vacuform which I feel is not right for this armor but many use his. I am a completely unskilled painter and I made it work so anyone could definitely do it. I plan to put together a painting tutorial on how I did mine.

Forgot to mention, Men At Arms has been doing the BDU's for years but I believe he just recently stopped doing them so now I have no idea where anyone can get them

Yeah USCM camouflage is a completely custom made pattern. It loosely resembles an early ERDL pattern, except the colours are white, yellow and brown/almost purple. The ERDL pattern also has a horizontal orientation while USCM has been rotated 90 degrees to have a vertical orientation.

There were two makers (one of which had a sample of the screen used material) that started making replica BDUs back as early as 2003. One was based in the UK (USCM Supplies) and only had a short run, but is considered among the USCM costumers to be highly screen accurate (they had the sample).

The second was Men At Arms. He produced three versions (referred to as 1PAT, 2PAT and 3PAT). Each pattern was an improvement over the last with his 3PAT being the most screen accurate to date. I own both his 1PAT and 2PAT BDUs.

Unfortunately as Kristen mentioned Men At Arms closed up his Hong Kong based shop in February this year and is no longer making uniforms. So far there has been no (confirmed) word on anyone taking up the torch.

SWC, Your gear looks great! I saw you guys at SDCC. Great to see the "Classics" represented along with the new stuff.

Your camera work was good and stable too. I wondered if you were using a Smartgun mount for it :)

Thank you! I wish! Actually, if I had a smartgun mount, I'd be toting around a Smartgun :lol I would LOVE one of those!!! No, just me and my iPhone. Glad it looked good as it was my first time every using it like that.

Thank you. Yup, Matsuo is awesome!

Sorry to hijack your thread Kristen but this is advertisement for Matt. Matsuo also does Paint jobs on USCM armor. Pictures of mine can be seen in the following thread(link below). I am 100% in love with mine, Matt nailed everything I had in mind, or came so close I can not picture it any different now!!!

Any questions on pricing for paint jobs you can Private message him, or email him. I will not be passing out his email as I do not know if it ok with him or not!

Ok...but if you have a thread on your armor and want to advertise for Matsuo, why not post advertisement in it instead of hijacking my thread?
