Oh! you need one of these high tech devices only available at gun shops?

It manages to be both ugly and beautiful at the same time.

I think the most telling aspect of its innate crappiness is the fact that it’s so LIGHT when you pick it up, unlike the proper Graflex-based sabers used in the movies. It has no heft. It’s just an aluminum tube with some junk attached to it, whereas the movie Graflexes have some weight and quality to them.

Last video is uploaded but YouTube is taking forever to process it.. it’s been over a hour. And I don’t know how to link it until it’s fully processed

If you are subscribed it should show up on your feed once it becomes available. Hopefully I can link it in the morning

Sorry guys, it is uploaded though

Got it! Ok so this Saturday it looks like we are getting a wicked rain storm. I plan on doing some v2 work in the shed. Then once I can go as far as I can thanks to weather I plan on editing this thread and organizing it.

Also most likely starting the graflite revised tutorial for those who haven’t started on theirs

I’m sorry for the pervious videos being @$$ backwards, but now I got a real easier way of locating the arrows, grips and box

So give me a week or two to get that tutorial up ;)

As always thanks for the support I hope this series has helped! Look out for the next big adventure!

Thanks for the shout-out, Halliwax!

And don’t beat yourself up! I love your videos. You make even the boring parts of the process charming and fun. You should maybe spend less time building props and more time building up self-esteem, because you’re an invaluable part of this community, and have nothing to apologize for. Every new video is a treat, even if they’re not as organized as you might hope.

Fortunately, I have a second Graflite from which I can harvest parts, if and when you figure out the tongue. But I’m still looking for that smaller red dome light, so if we can get a link to it or something, that would be swell.

Also wondering what a good source for the switch would be, in lieu of a 3-D printer. I think the look of the part you printed feels the most correct—a half-moon with horizontal knurling. Hmmm.

Thanks Greg!! Appreciate the support. Really appreciate the kind comments too

I gotta take some time this weekend and clean things up in this thread, get it a little more organized

Thats great. I have loved watching this. You had me from day one. Its a much maligned prop that needed the attention you have given it. Thank you.

Thank you very much! I try my best to be informative and help explain to everyone what steps need to be taken.

I never really ever planned on doing stuff like this, but now seeing all the positive support I get from it, it makes me want to do even more

Be sure to share you HS when it’s done!

Been slowly working on one and following what you do. The only real difference is the red button and the end cap. Made an end cap from the original screw on cap. Kept a little lip so it slips into the tube without going all the way. This also preserved the lettering on the bottom. Probably not what they did but wanted to use the original cap. :)
