TrooperTrent Holiday Special Lightsaber Series

Amazed the ANH costume was around.. Lucas claims he gave it away, it had to be given away after this…

Shouldn’t there have been multiples of Luke’s “farm hand costume”?

I mean, I know that Star Wars was a low budget film, but even TV shows of the time had multiple costumes for each actor.

They had to plan for damage to a costume not holding up shooting, being able to send costumes to the cleaners at the end of each shooting day, etc.

I don’t know if there were 2 belts.. I know I’ve heard talks about it. But I know I heard a story on how one of the belts got out by Lucas throwing it to a friend of his while in storage and said “here you can have this”

I completely agree with the whole one and done prop system, but there have been many times there is only one costume/prop

Obiwans tunic for an example of only 1. Rumors are multiple Vader suits were made but I believe only 1 helmet and 1 suit and 1 belt appear on screen. I don’t know enough about that to confirm it though, just repeating what I’ve read (I’ve seen multiple vader helmets on a table, but it seems only one is used on screen)

I do know about obiwans Jedi robes/tunic. I do know he had at least 4 cloaks, because he has his hero one he wears and 3 they used to cut in half

Would love to know how many costumes they all had

Check out the comments, I dropped the Etsy store ;)

I believe that the maker of both of the pieces seen in the video (The V2 and the Life Day/ Holiday Special hilt) sent them to Michael quite a few years ago…circa 2017 or 2018 on the V2 and 2019 for the Holiday Special…

There have been a lot of developments since, for both the pieces shown.

I thought of you right away when he said “alley” ;)

I can’t see any indentation marks in the existing images, so I’m wondering if the holiday special edition uses a stamped font version of the flash light.
However, the reflectivity of the flashlight version is different from that of the stamped version, which has a matte finish; is there any expert who can help resolve this issue?

It could be that the original prop employed a flash that was missing the paint in the lettering. This is a commission I built, and removed the paint:

Star Wars back then appeared to enjoy buffing lightsabers. The Graflexes were all polished a little, the V2 and V3 were both shined up (not sure about Vader… so much black on screen didn’t show his saber very well anyway) so I wouldn’t be surprised if a Matte finish got buffed off when they were prepping it for the small amount of photography it got

The replica I built was a variant that lacked any “Graflex” lettering and the labels around the ports were not stamped and easily removed.

So, when the crew made the lightsaber for the holiday special, the Graflex flash used was the matte version with black lettering that was later polished to remove the lettering, rather than the stamped letter version?
