Here are my pics from Flynn's Arcade
Flynn's Arcade 2010 - a set on Flickr
Visitors to San Diego during SDCC 2010 (San Diego Comic Con 2010, as if you didn't know, silly!) were treated to the immersive experience of Tron Legacy.
Located offsite in the Gas Lamp District, Flynn's Arcade was part of Disney's marketing campaign for it's upcoming movie, Tron Legacy.
Note, there were TWO different experiences; one for visitors who participated in the ARG and the other for the general public. Below is a description of what the general public experienced, but the photos I'm sharing is a mash up of both experiences.
Visitors started their journey into the digital world with a visit to Flynn's Arcade, a fully built out 80s arcade, complete with classic coin-ops as Space Invaders, Marble Madness, Track and Field, Galaga, Asteroids, Pac Man and Kevin Flynn's most popular game, Space Paranoids!
After 20 minutes of free play, visitors were taken through a secret passage behind a Space Paranoids machine. Through the dark, they uncovered a room that Kevin Flynn used to create the grid. On one side of the room is Kevin Flynn's dusty terminal, which has been counting up for 20 years. On the other side is what looks like a laser.
After a minute or so of standing in the small dark room, the laser activated and visitors were transported into the digital world! Doors were swung open and visitors walked through a tunnel with swirling light. As they turned the corner of they entered a light and music filled club, the End of Line Club.
