Tron: Elastolite

I think they could but from a business standpoint I wouldn't sell it either to the regular consumer if I could make Million Dollar deals with major corporations. Plus the chances of modding it/making it better and putting a different name on it are quite high since the Elastolite name isn't well known yet. They have "contracts in the works" right now.
Honestly, I think Nike would be the first to use it and jump on the bandwagon pushing "revolutionary" and fashion forward workout clothes. Adidas already has some tennis shoes with the lighting. The man I spoke with pointed me toward one of their other small projects. A fashion designer named Edmund Castillo. They only reason they dealt with him is because his shoes will cost the public $1650!!! Unfortunately, it seems to me that Oryon is all about making money and expanding their company at this point.

Here's a link to the shoes: Shoes Edmundo Castillo inspired by the movie “Tron Legacy” | Weblog Surf

Cheers and Good Luck Users.

Those are expensive poledancer shoes.

Man... it really sucks that we know what it is, and where to get it... but its unobtainable... or if it is possible, will cost an arm and a leg to do so :( How much different is this from the EL tape?

I have nothing useful to add, but I am just loving the info that NEW members are adding and how they are going all out for new and trendy costumes in the same way some of us old timers did for old costumes, like Star Wars. Great job, guys! Loving it!

Art Andrews, I am so glad to run into you here already!!! You are a big dog on TDH too!

Do you think this Elastolite is something that another company will pick up on soon?

I read an interview with the costume designers and they said the TRON costumes were only able to stay lit for 1213 minutes at a time. Then they would have to replace battery packs. Doesn't sound like a practical application for fans.

I don't know. 1213 minutes is just over 20 hours. That seems pretty good to me.

Well, I can see that this stuff has already been mentioned. Good. Thank God for the search function. Saves from getting flamed. LOL :lol

Hey, friend. We at Sparkfun sell the stuff as well as Lilly Pad sewable circuits- great material but very expensive. Good luck with your projects.
