Highlander I Tsuba help

Hello all,

I wanted to see if anyone could help. One of our great members here provided a link for a Highlander I Tsuba and I can not only not get it to download, I would have no idea what to do with it if I could.

Does anyone know where I could get this cut in Brass and how I would go about that?

Thanks

You'll need to be signed up to Tinkercad to download (it's free), and then they've got .STL, .OBJ, and .SVG options.

There are a few options for reproducing in brass, off the top of my head:

-Some places can use the SVG format to cut it out of flat stock, they'd of course need the correct stock thickness.
- The .STL and .OBJ formats can be submitted to places like Xometry or Craftcloud for a CNC cut, probably looking at $350+ dollars guessing
- The file format can also be converted to a .STP/STEP file, and be cut via CNC as well. (PM me if you need it converted, it's easy to do but takes particular software)

Just my two cents, but the SVG then cut by laser/water/whatever can handle that thickness would be the most affordable way to go. You might be able to find a local place that can do it as well.

Those files had two versions, but the main bodies both measured 8.5mm X 80mm round. So you're looking at 11/32" X 3 5/32".

I posted a pic of the two Tsubas included also just to note- if you get one cut/machined, I would get rid of the faceting on those side walls. Like STEP conversion, it's an easy fix, but that would be annoying to pay for a machined metal piece and find you've gotta sand/polish those flats down.

Okay,

No clue what the one with big whole is for.

I will absolutely take care of the "faceting" as soon as you explain to me what that is and what Step Conversion is?

:p :p :p :D :D :D

I found these two places so far:

This is straight to their different types of metal page:
