Trigun - Vash the Stampede .45 Long Colt Replica

I agree, I'm pretty sure it was meant to represent wings with the AGL standing for angel, as in angel arms factory... hence the name of the cannon when it forms and has the wings sprout out... "The Angel Arm"

Eagle dosen't make any sense. Well, for that matter the whole "arms factory" bit dosen't make any sense since Knives apparently pulled a Tony Stark and built both of them out of spare parts in a cave. :confused

They look more like angel wings than they do letter 'E's.

It's like you said, Knives built the guns out of spare parts. There is nothing to say that the Eagle Arms Factory isn't where he got those parts. He mainly fashioned the plant technology into it not built the entire gun from scratch. I mean Frank Marlon had no problem fixing it up and switching out the cylinder.

And for me, being a graphic designer, I see the wings as iconographic representations of Es since E + AGL + E spells eagle. You can't even say AGL phonetically and make it sound like Angel.

It's too bad we'll never get this entirely settled. I'm perfectly keen with believing what we believe even if they aren't the same thing. :thumbsup

Seems we all have valid points and I respect different opinions.

I would love to know for a fact what it actually stands for... Eagle or Angel... I like to believe it's angel but that is some valid points about the Eagle manufacturers.

We'd have to ask someone in the know from the production of the anime since the manga gun doesn't look like this one at all. :unsure

I'd bet even Nightow doesn't know 100%.

I'm not sure if you've seen this website before, but this guy made a mechanically functional wooden replica and there are a lot of photos of the inner workings: Props by fev - Trigun-Vash's Gun If you make something similar with a urethane resin, like smoothcast, I don't know that it would be durable to hold up against any usage but you might be able to commission someone to gut a $35 dollar Ebay kit and mod it into a model with moving parts. The majority of the gun body doesn't move, it's the trigger, hammer, cylinder, and barrel breech that would be moving parts. The other option would be a $35 kit and get someone with a 3D printer to make you some ABS parts?

Yea I seen that, and tried to contact them but got no response on that wooden gun.

I have one of those gun kits already and it's getting some work done to it to touch it up.

If I can get my hands on the eBay gun (the metal one from Sidkit) me and my father (planning on this anyway *fingers crossed*) will disassemble it, measure it out and machine another gun, hopefully making some more replica's.

That would be amazing. I used to be REALLY into Trigun and I always kind of wanted Vash's gun. A metal replica kit would be perfect.

Well I didn't get it, my max I could possibly co was $1000 and the guy outbid me by $1025.

Ohh well it was fun while it lasted having a bidding war! Maybe I can get my hands on another one sometime.

If you have a grand to spend on the gun, you might be able to find someone with a CNC router who can machine you one from aluminum.

It would probably cost more than that, and you'd have to find someone willing to do it. Most machinists would hear the word "gun" and tell you to move along, regardless of it being real or not. I remember trying to get a part for one of my kits machined in metal and simply because it was part of a gun-like object I had no end of difficulty.

Not to mention all the tolerances and stuff you'd have to factor in if you wanted it to move, which is probably why the Sidkit version is pewter.

Yep back to square one now... I really wanted that particular gun so we could try and start machining new ones, I guess it just wasn't in the cards for me this time.

Soooo..... Does anyone have or know anyone with a Poseidon Kit or have any relative information on the parts.

This is becoming a daunting task just to get my hands on one.. the search continues...

Those of us who have one usually arn't looking to sell. You can try contacting Rook at rookscastle.com. He made moulds of the Poseidon gun and was selling casts. Last I heard he was looking for offers on the masters for the moulds since he wasen't going to be making casts anymore.

Just saw this thread, and wanted to let you guys know that this project is on my list of things to do!:cool:thumbsup

I acquired the 44 Magnum M-29 Kit, along with the Poseidon Trigun Vash Revolver Conversion Kit a couple of years back.

My plan is to offer the Poseidon version of the Vash Revolver in METAL!!!:love:thumbsup

The Poseidon version, IMO, is the best and most accurate version of the Vash Revolver out there, and is also different from the Sidkit Vash Revolver. Can't remember what version Sidkit's was, but his was still bada$$. Especially, since he offered it in metal.

There's still a lot of work involved before it is ready for the molds. Such as converting the 44 Magnum parts into recognizable Vash parts, and also tearing up the grip into seperate parts, so part of the grip can be molded and be made into hard black rubber.

Of course, some of you may know I've been working on other projects, and my progress time is usually slow at times. So, when I'll be able to work on this is unknown, but hopefully by next year.
