Trek props

hello.

I am a scale modeler and would like to put my skills to use in creating screen-accurate props from Star Trek and other TV shows and movies.

First and foremost, I'd like to do the cricket style phaser from TNG. I believe the last time it was seen was in "The Game". Wesley set it on a bulkhead after fixing it to fire at a force field.

I am very new to resin as I've only ever done two resin kits before.

I'm hoping that there are some phaser and tricorder kits on the web to order so as to not pay the equivalent of a full tank of gas on Roddenberry.com to get one.

Thank you everyone for your time and attention.

Ed.

Welcome aboard Ed!

I'm sure someone will chime in with where to get what you are looking for!!

Stapleton (a member here) does an amazing version of the cricket phaser. He has both solid and hollow version. It can even accept modified Playmates phaser electronics to make a hero version!

Welcom, Ed!
trekker670 is correct. Furthermore, GMprops (who is also a member here) can do the electronics for you that will easily fit the Stapleton resin kit. I believe that Stapleton sells his Cricket kit for around $40.00 shipped in the USA. You'd have to contact GMprops for a quote on the electronics. I have built quite a few of these, now. Below are some pictures of one of them. Happy building!

apollo is right, it would be stapleton13. And DANG does he do a good job on the cricket. I'm considering buying one as soon as funds are available :). He also does a heck of a job on the Marks VI, VII, and X tricorders.

Absolutely. His kits are great! They make it a bit easier to build them up. The pictures I posted of the Cricket Phaser I built took me about a day to assemble. The painting and clear coating took about a week for everything to cure and dry all the way. Hate this weather for painting props! :angry Lol!!

If you're like me, I live in pretty much humid weather during the spring/summer LOL I hate it! Worst time to paint :D.

I like it during spring when there's little to no humidity :)

I'm actually considering buying one of Myron's (Stapleton) hollow kits sometime in the near future. Dude, There are plenty more people who make kits of different trek props...This is why I LOVE the prop community :)
