When it does run, how does it sound? The extended youtube video makes the motor sound pretty quiet. But someone posted one on FB and the motor was pretty loud.I hadn't but I have now.

Very quiet. You really have to listen for the motor over that scanning sounds. I'm very happy with it and if I have to charge it every so often then I'm okay with that. When it does run, how does it sound? The extended youtube video makes the motor sound pretty quiet. Good to hear. For all I know, the video someone posted could have been an old DSteins scanner and not the new one. I’m waiting for my shipping notice.Very quiet. That's awesome. I figured they'd be happy to take care of you.I heard back from Roger about the battery not holding the charge and he said Dennis thinks it's the battery control board. He said to ship just the scanner back to them and they would fix it for free with turn around in about 48 hours.
When I received mine the battery was dead but charged up in under 10 minutes. I played with it for a while and then didn't try it again until yesterday and it was dead again, I charged it again and again it charged in under 10 minutes. It still had a charge this morning before I packed it up.That's awesome. I figured they'd be happy to take care of you.
For reference, I charged mine once for 5 min before it turned green (it still had a charge from being shipped) and have been playing with it off and on for a few weeks now. several minutes at a time most times, and I have not seen any drop in speed or sound, and have not needed to charge it yet. I probably have about an hour of use total if I had to guess.
Yeah I'll bet it's just a bad battery. I took a look inside mine when I swapped out the serialized port cover plate (they put number 61 on my scanner when I'm number 51) It's just one of those flat lithium batteries but I didn't see if it had a connector or if it was just soldered on. I'm hoping it's just a connector so they'll be easy to replace years down the road if they start degrading. When I received mine the battery was dead but charged up in under 10 minutes. Dennis apparently thinks it's the battery control board which is why they had me send it back. The battery is supposed to be easily changed out, which like you I hope is the case.Yeah I'll bet it's just a bad battery. I meant to reply to this earlier. An observation…It appears to me that most medical scanners being made either by 3D printer means, or mfg’d like Trek Classic, Roddenberry..etc are off when it comes to the grip….
Said to be from the Paul Allen collection which I’m assuming are original screen used hero props….the amount of ribs per rib group on the grip should be a count of 4….not 5…as shown in the below Trek Classic example vs original hero.

Again, everything on this is as it is on the actual prop
It is....it is awesome !!Actually it is BETTER than the original!![]()
If you want you could find a shampoo top and have a great piece LOL.Not to split hairsbutttttt…
The arrow points to polymer injection point at the center of the cover/ cap to produce the clear cover/cap.
I suspect they used a clear cap from a pump spray bottle/container of some consumer product. That being my suspicion, then no, it’s not “everything” as the actual prop…imo.
