Trek Classic Medical Scanner Mark I

When did you order? I ordered one on May 16 so hope to hear something this week.

I ordered mine on May 14th. On May 27th I recieved the following email:

Hello Jim,

Touching base on the Medical Scanner Shipping.

We are quite unexpectedly swamped with orders.

We are still a few weeks out from shipping. Trying to restock some critical parts.

I will alert you immediately upon shipping.

Happy Collecting,

Yeah, I had a feeling it would go viral. They're asking about it everywhere--the tricorder has really lit up interest.

TWC is missing out on scanner sales, imo…..hindsight is 20/20. Unless of course….TWC is aware of the scanner sales, and perhaps will throw a surprise and make a TWC scanner to compete.

The question is, those who already laid out hundreds for the trek classic, be willing to pay possibly hundreds more for the TWC version on top of what’s been paid for the trek classic? ……Hmmmm

You can never have enough scanners but it would have to be pretty spectacular to surpass the Trek Classic one.

TWC might design in a 1” or less round TFT lcd at the bottom end that shows and does something….they could start with a proximity temperature sensor feature like for scanning forehead without contact…. in case little Johnny isn’t feeling good …to get out of going to school for example….

Here’s one product example of many companies out there ….. it makes logical sense to me.

With so many in production…..perhaps they’ve depleted new old stock and now with such interest…new production is at hand? Trek Classics is resurrected…

Is it just me or do those scanners look just as cool or cooler with the bare brass internals exposed? Seeing them like that, I kind of wish that's what they looked like on the show!

Me too. Now I just need a tricorder to pair it with.

Found this sometime back……don’t know from where the middle scanner was used on screen.

Notice the science scanner has only one slide switch not two. Perhaps these are all inspired builds.

And then there are these….

I think the middle one was from STV and none of them, except for maybe the STV one, are screen accurate.

Jim - is Roger Romage on the board?
I emailed him 3 days ago to purchase but have not heard anything back.
Any guidance?
Thx in advance - Ed
Ed, I don’t know if Roger is on this forum but he is on Facebook. I’d give your email a little more time, they’re swamped with orders.

An observation…It appears to me that most medical scanners being made either by 3D printer means, or mfg’d like Trek Classic, Roddenberry..etc are off when it comes to the grip….

Said to be from the Paul Allen collection which I’m assuming are original screen used hero props….the amount of ribs per rib group on the grip should be a count of 4….not 5…as shown in the below Trek Classic example vs original hero.
