Transformers 2 Diorama... Help needed

So I am out today and snagged the Sideswipe and Sideways figures. I would love to do a diorama of Sideswipe being awesome... Like the movie scene he cuts sideways in half.

I was thinking about cutting the sideways fig in half, suspend Sideswipe in robot mode, while painting the insides of Sideways to look like on fire and light the base.

Any one done something like this? This is my first model building attempt.

I'm not familiar with the figures in general. If you are going to have any building fronts suspending the figure would be easier. If you could draw up a quick sketch to help us visualize would be helpful. Have you wired up LEDs before?

I'll be helpful to see te figures - I know the scene. so you would like to have Sideswipe to start cutting Sideswipe?

I can take some shots of the figs, that would help huh. There about 1/16th scale. (I think)

I have done LED before, but limited. I saw a model with fiber optics in it that looks cooler. That may be better to do points of fire rather than a solid color... Donno.
