Toy Story prop idea; also, need ideas for increasing collection.

They also have a new Buzz out that is still the right size, but the head turns and the lights on his wings blink and other cool things.
I'll have to check this out! The interactive Buzz sounds cool, but not accurate dimensions is an immediate pass from me.

I've always wanted to do a screen accurate Buzz Lightyear "spaceship box"... maybe we can do a paper prop thread on it?

I think I read that the new Buzz that comes int he spaceship box was redone to be more accurate (size wize) based on the pixar CG models.

I'd love to have some of the "Other" toys that were never produced.
Rocky Gibraltar, the Hockey puck, Troll(which would be easy), and even some of Sids toys.
And Stinky Pete the Prospector.

Yes, it's the closest they've had, but it also has big "Toy Story" graphics on the bottom corner. That's enough to bother me. :lol Same goes with Woody's box.

The Thinkway aliens are the best yet, but I want 20 of the exact same pose, just like they were in the claw machine. I'm glad Thinkway did them though since I was playing with the idea of making them as squeak toys. Now to make Wheezy...

Where did you guys find the Mr. Microphonr and the Bo Peep? Those are great!

I happened to find him on craigslist.

that Bo-Peep is pretty cute, I think I saw her with the sheep at the disney store once. I like the tour guide barbie too.

How about the Zurg? I've never seen one to scale before, was that a disney store thing?

How about the room monitor? The one we had wasn't screen accurate, but this was the actual monitor we used for our son :lol

I actually found the right baby monitor on ebay but missed the end of the auction. Since then I haven't been able to find it.
I also need to get some alphabet blocks. My son had some, I was just waiting for the time when he outgrew them. Came home from work and my wife had sold them.
Oh well. Have to get some new ones.

Just in the last couple of days I've gotten pretty much everything I need for my collection. I just need one more piece to make up my "dream team"...I need a 'close enough' pig and there's just nothing. :cry
I want to thank everyone that added something to this thread. Lots of stuff out there I didn't even know was available!

I'm too missing Hamm and Bo-Peep from my collection.
I have an original Toy Story 1 Mr.Potato head and slinky dog. I am hopeful that when the third movie is ready for release, we will see more character toys in stores. These new ones look great and I'm glad they are using the Pixar 3D files for them.

Cool, A couple of years ago the toy story people also brought out a couple of "Sids" Toys the one i remember seing the most is "baby-face" (that doll/meccano ting) type it in and you might find one i think it was actually to scale too!
Also back then they made a neat set of background toys too!

And has anyone replicated Adny cowbow sets?
You know the cardboard boxes with barns and cows drawn on with permenant marker?
all is needed is a box and a pen but i do not have any reference. LOL!

Toy Story Rocks!

The Sid baby doll head spider is being sold right now at the Disney stores with RC option. They do have Ham and Slinky dog as well. I was hoping to see more of the certificated pieces come out, but may end up pick up these now.

disney store's got a lot of that, I know we've got 2 different types/sizes of RC, Buzz, woody, and rex. we've only recieved one version of pig though. I keep staring at the LGM's whenever I go in - they look so dang cool and I can only imagine they squeak :p

don't forget though, it's still a ways away and I'm sure they'll switch out new stuff closer to the release. we're just putting it out now for the christmas push (which, again, lot of cool new stuff.)

I stopped by my local Toys R Us and picked up the Toy Story Collection versions of Buzz and Woody.
It was really the videos of John Lasseter talking about these toys that really sold me, but seeing them up close - well, I can say that these new toys are truly worthy of being replicas because they are OUTSTANDING, very beautifully done.
I have decided not to remove them from thier wondefully designed boxes (for Buzz however, I carfully opened the box to remove the spaceship box wings to attach for display.)
I plan on buying another set to take out for display.
So far, the 'Toy Story Collection' series has: Buzz, Woody, Pizza Planet aliens (3x), Bucket of soldiers, REX and RC.
I have emailed Thinkway toys asking if they plan on releasing further characters for this particular line. I am hoping we see a Jesse, Bullseye, Hamm and Bo-Peep for the next wave with the other characters to fallow.
Here is the first video of John Lasseter talking about these fantastic new toy replicas:

Just added Hamm and Slinky to the collection. Now trying to find the deluxe Rex locally as you save about $ 30 with the discount and no shipping charges.
I popped my old Buzz in the box and have the new one out on display. But I am almost tempted to get another one just for the multiple box on the shelf look as well having a mint in the box one. I hope they do make the others in deluxe form as well down the road.

In a few of those John Lasseter videos, I noticed a 'Toy Story Collection' edition Mr.Potato Head in the background. The box has the same Toy Story Collection logo in the lower left corner, and even though we see this figure out of it's box in the foreground in the first video of the series, the box in the background changes position and is even missing in some of the videos.
My assumption is that this is a prototype and is not ready for release. I am pretty confident we will see more definitive editions coming down the pike. Until then, I am holding off on buying any non-collection editions.
I will be posting my old Toy Story 2 Buzz, woody and Jesse in the JY.
