Toronto Prop Party Official Date - June 25th 2011

I'm really really hoping to be able to make it. I've been a little out of touch with the RPF recently, but have been keeping tabs on this. Unfortunately my little guys are at a phase where their attention span is very limited (20 months old...) and I'm not sure how they'll deal with the long car ride then being cooped up without being able to run around (trust me, you DON'T want them free around your props). If I can find a sitter for the day, I may just come down alone. I am really looking forward to this though, so I'm hoping I get to meet you guys!!!
 
Yep, I'll be there for certain. My girl and I will both be bringing plenty of props (she's got a ton of Screen used Xena stuff) It'll just be a matter of what fits in the car.
 
JonnyAmateur, hopefully you can make it somehow.

I hope everyone can appreciate that there is a personal cost for me to organize this event and I'd like to make sure my efforts are covered.

Plus, it's more fair to those donating prizes that the event coodinator take into consideration the value of the items they have in the raffle.

Hoping for a large turnout, I will be donating a percentage of the proceeds to 'The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario'.

****UPDATE****

FOOD

Here's the lowdown.
The kitchen at the Days Hotel only opens early in the morning, then again at 6 or 7pm.
We're getting around paying them for food by ordering food(pizzas) around 3 - 4 pm.
As long as we keep neat and tidy we shouldn't have any problems at all.

So, I should also mention that WE ALL CHIP IN FOR FOOD.
We'll order whatever we need, whenever we want it.
I suggest 3-4 because any later is too close to the evening.
Some people may not be able to get there until after 3pm.

We should do our best to keep our activities localized to the 'room'.
We are free to roam anywhere we want. There is an outdoor area that should be nice.
I say this just to encourage a 'convention' vibe.

We talked it over last night. If we can get a sitter for the afternoon, we'll come down for a bit at least. If not, we'll have to pass on this one. Really hoping everything works out though!

Just an FYI though, the Bible Pages are $15 each and I'm donating two (one aged, one new) so the total value there is $30. :) You can split them if you want though.

Also, I assume the first person to be drawn gets their choice and so on? 'Cause if I'm drawn first I'd be disappointed to get my own book back! ;)

As for tables space, two would be fine for us. We may be bringing a floor standing half mannequin as well

Well, everything is moving ahead quite nicely.
If anyone has any questions, now is the time to ask.

It looks like we will have some media coverage of this event as well.

We're expecting a special surprise, and none of you have any idea!
I love it. You're all going to be pleasantly surprised(hopefully...)

Bring your cameras, it's going to be great.

I think it makes sense that way to allow people to take a shot a prizes they may actually want.

Panels...well it depends on what hierarchy you base 'famous' on.

No Hollywood celebrities(that I know of...) unfortunately, but some notable people in the prop community will be present.

It appears Space channel and Electric Playground will be attending to cover the event.

Hopefully we will have a 'real' DeLorean Time Machine courtesy of RPF member ODOC. I didn't announce it earlier because it's not 100%, he's a busy guy.

Anyway, that's it for now.

Remember, if anyone plans on donating a prize for the raffle(who hasn't already confirmed) please let me know before Saturday, OR get there early to meet with me.
 
I've discussed it at ong length with the GF, and after much pleading I should be able to make it on Saturday! Yay!
