Maybe the original slotted screw was missed during filming (or after) and they replaced it with what they had in hands......
As an owner of both of the blasters, what is the difference between the OG and the 2049 interms of finish? I have the OG.Here/s the OG I got to replace the 2049 I sold. I like the OG finish a LOT more than the 2049 finish.

Yeah mine is the same, I'm not too bothered by it though.My OG arrived this week from Hollywood Collectibles and I’m happy with the new surface finishes but I just noticed the grips don’t quite meet the grip-end plate;

I’m no expert in tomenosuke’ s but the 2049 is unweathered and the OG is weathered, there could be other subtle differences but that’s all I see as the difference.As an owner of both of the blasters, what is the difference between the OG and the 2049 interms of finish? I have the OG.

Yeah, I count that as weathering on the OG.The white on the grips, no ?
If I remember well, some members used the fine Turtle Wax polish, used a polishing wheel to make it shiny and to make sure that there's no residue in the diamond grooves.What polish would any of you recommend for the grips to clear them up? I think I could live with the white gunk if the grips were clearer and more brilliant.
