Tomb Raider Reborn

Some more Quiver images (high res PC)
With these you can see the stitching at the top and bottom as well as the leather texture.

I'm just starting my cosplay so I need help finding the pouches. I'm sure someone found them with links could those be repost. I making the strap soon as well as the branch made bow, I'm using canvas for the quiver because it is what I got, I have a light gray tank top and a white one (best way to dirty and rip these?), I have army combat boots my brother gave me, the walk talkie is to pricey for my budget what do you suggest as a substitue and the watch how do you get that? I'm checking local goodwill's for the pants since they are just getting ruined anyways. Any help would be great, I'm making this for Gen Con 2013.

Also I'm making my holster from scratch with unstained leather. Do you think a medium stain would be the right color the dark brown looks way to dark.

What kind of dye are you using? If it's water based, you kind of need to pick the color you want. Err on the side of dark. For oil based, if it comes out too light, you can kind of cheat a bit and oversaturate the leather, and it will come out darker.

I just got the art book and strategy guide today, and am thinking I went too light with mine (which is a medium brown (water based) dye).

I have some tricks up my sleeve to try and darken it (without stripping it all away).

Something between medium and dark... If you get water based dye you can get darker colors and dilute it with water with varying degrees of success. Be sure to test it out on scraps first.

Alright ladies (and gents if you're out there)

I'm back, having survived being Lara Croft. It wasn't easy and I have the bruises to prove it! But I would do it again in a heartbeat!

I did go with the reborn look as my base. But because my story is taking place 5 years after, you won't see a screen accurate look like the game. I also added a few tidbits that were just SO Lara. :)

Here's a production photo and a few screen shots!

A few things I learned about realism as Tomb Raider.
1. colored contacts are a bitch! LOL
2. getting and staying dirty was easy. :)
3. Push up wire bras (that give you the "Lara look") DO NOT GO WELL WITH STUNTS! I have marks from the wires and clips... yikes!
4. Gun holsters are tricky. :/ You can often see when the guns were holstered they would weight down the the belt... also, they add another difficulty to rolling around.
5. guns also like to bump into things... lots of things. you must basically become aware that your hips are now 4 inches wider on each side!

As for the tidbits I added.... on Lara's belt are two great little finds, one is a pink (I know, not my fav color either) but it is a REAL watch/stopwatch that is water proof, has a compass on the front and a thermometer on the back. Then there is a tailsman for safety and travel on the other side. Both of these were just accidental finds at a Goodwill and I KNEW they were Lara the moment I saw them. :) If you all want closer pictures, I have them.

Overall, if I do another (which is possible) there will be tweaks and possibly changing up the look. Clearly there are a lot of Lara looks to play with. :) Everyone had a blast and the raw footage looks AMAZING!

If you want to see more screen shots and other goodies I'm putting together, and of course, the final film (hoping for it to be done early next month :) Please check out the facebook page! https://www.facebook.com/TombRaiderTribute

Can't wait to see what you all think. Be gentle... :unsure

It was my baby and I worked really, really hard to make it Tomb Raider at heart. :)

Thank you for the heads up . I wanted to get the faded look this is seen if a few angles as well so we will see how well I can do this with my dad. It is my first piece but he has done lots.

A friend recommended this place to me and encouraged me to share some photos. I've worn the costume at one event recently here in the UK and only had the opportunity to do one location shoot, so this is the result so far. I used a lot more dirt/blood the second time on location and there are still so many variations with props's/poses I want to do next time I wear it. :)

Man I just went through all 21 pages of this thread and I'm blown away! Its great to see girls fired up about tomb raider! Keep it up! All of you!

Your outfit turned out really well even down to the correct tips on the arrows.:thumbsup

And welcome to the RPF.

Looking fabulous, Alias! Love all those details! :eek

LaMelody - Now you made me really curious! Can't wait to see the the final result!

Aaaand.. thanks again, division 6 & Ember! Those awesome quiver screenshots came just in time!

I've been quite busy over the past few days aswell and I finally made some progress again..
I'd love to show you some more details but the battery of my camera just got empty and I could only
take a single shot. There is still a lot to make, but slowly getting there.

BTW.. can you guys recommend any good tattoo concealer? Something that doesn't rub off too easily,
so I could use it for the back of my shoulder aswell - or should I just wrap some gauze over and call it a day..?

I have a tattoo that covers my whole should almost. I'm pale so no cover up works so I'm just leaving mine alone.
