No.. you did help! You're keeping the convo going and helping it to expand into to other areas! That's what it's all about:thumbsup

Lara's large black pouch that she wears on the back of her belt is a

Pouches2_zpsfd0e6f48.png

I'm working on this big pouch... I'm doing some experimenting with the distressing and it's coming along. The left is my work in progress, the right is one just painted flat grey.

The boots are indeed Timberland Charles Streets. Those appear to be the Olive coloured ones (I own a pair of those!) I'm not positive which are used in the game. The "brown" ones that Timberland makes (I own a pair of those, as well) are too light to be a perfect match to the in game ones. I go back and forth as to which ones I like with my outfit, but I'm wearing the Olive ones (like yours) in this picture:

Though they are Olive, I think they look better than the brown ones, which i'm wearing here:

In any case, you have Charles Streets! Congrats! :D

the axe looks PHENOMENAL so far!:eek Mine is a resin cast... the fact that you've milled yours out of solid wood makes it even more incredible. Fantastic work! Be sure to keep us updated on your progress.. might want to go ahead and start your own thread, though... we're all kind of crowding TheLadyNerd
O.O Woooow your costume is simply awesome! you wanna do a race with ladynerd? XD anyway, beatiful!

Bummer about the Rothco pouch being too large. I've ordered one already, so I will probably just take a pattern off it and scale it down. I love your weathering Kristenhenry70! Is that just acrylic paint?

Hmmm... looking at it again, her belt is about 1-1.2" wide. If you take that and reproduce that width four times (about 6") that is close to how tall the pouch is. The Rothco pouch is 7" high, so it's in the ballpark. It just looks huge on my belt

Walkie is painted! Just need to weather it now. Will do a light sandpaper and go over it with acrylic paints. I used Humbrol Enamel Paint: #69
Here's a comparison shot with an unpainted Midland GXT1000

And under natural light (with boots!)

I've been on a hunt for buttons for the pants (noticed something weird and potentially a continuity error where the number, placement and appearance of the buttons changes briefly during the game, will see what pics I can dig up), but can't find anything that's a real close match for these. They're rope-edged shank buttons, and I estimate they're about 15mm, or 'size 24'. Have found a few designs with crests which may be a suitable substitute, the ones below from Bennos Buttons are currently my favourite match.

So many nice things in this thread :)
I just wanted to show you my Ice Axe..it's my first time making a weapon all by myself.
well, i'm not statisfied with it.. i HATE the bandage (it's too white). and everything is looking too unrealistic.
It's made out of wood, fimo air and then painted with acrylics. It's NOT yet finished!
hope to hear some opinions on how to make it better :)

It may be a while before I get the final pictures from my shoot back, but here's a couple teasers for you guys. :) (Photographs copyright Adam Greene)

Apparently Lara was a bit hungry after her rescue from the island....

So many things I missed on the shoot (like completely forgetting to put the upper thigh wrapping). And there's things I'd definitely like to go back and fix or redo (like updating my holster and fixing my wonky quiver). I'm REALLY debating whether to keep using the boots I have or get the screen accurate ones. Can't decide.

As for the rest of you fine ladies, keep up the awesome work!

Btw, what are those buttons for? I don't recognise what part of the costume they're for.

Left Leg pocket.

I really like that first picture, it really fits the look of the game environment.

They actually used Half Moon Bay as reference for the coastal forest.
It's about 3 hours away from where I live.
Went horse back riding on the beach there once.

Perhaps a slightly darker red paint.
Also straighten and smooth the grooves, thin the blades a bit to give it that stepped look and maybe add some hex bolts.

A little more work and it will shine.:thumbsup

Thank you!
I will try my best, tomorrow i will start with it :)
@TheLadyNerd
Love the first picture! And the last one is funny. The dirt suits the meal :D:cheers

TheLadyNerdI do LOVE the first one as well...it is my favourite of the ones I've seen so far. But I also love the second as it's showing emotion which is something missing quite often from others' pictures that I've seen except Shona's.

The pig out pic is priceless.

I know you won't be satisfied with your boots (because you're like me... and anyways if you were satisfied with them you wouldn't be contemplating replacing them) but for what it's worth I love them and think they are just fine.

And Frak the other details.... you have a BEAUTIFUL atmosphere going in these pictures and little things like that just don't matter as much as yours and my obsessive minds think that they do. You have captured the raw emotion and spirit of the game.... and that is so much more compelling than the placement of a bandage.

WELL done! <3

It's looking quite good so far.

It may need to have it's colours dimmed down a bit... perhaps drybrushing on some dark brown and/or black acrylic paint to give it a dirty and beaten look.

Also, it may just be the camera angle, but it seems a bit large overall. Have you got any other pictures of it for comparison?
