Tokyorose Take 2. Custom Closed Mouth. Sculpt Complete.

Hey Guys,

I haven't had any free time during the last month to dedicate to my sculpt so I don't have much to show. I'm hoping to get him finished soon though because I'll be moving in the next couple months and want to check this off my list first.

Anywho; I completed the texture on the top of the crest and back of the head. I've also done some skin textures and veining on the neck, even though I'm sure it will get covered with a Neck Ring. I've also done some Pores and skin texture on the brow and mandibles but this camera and my dimly lit basement don't do much to get them across. Really the only thing left is to finish the inside and underside of the mouth, the bridge of the nose area, clean up the lower mandibles and that should be about it. Then I'll get some pictures in better lighting with a decent camera and try not to botch the whole thing up during the molding process.

Just wanted to Check in and let everyone know the project is still alive. Thanks for looking.

Hey, thanks a lot man.

That's not my main goal, but I'm definitely planning on casting up a few extras if all goes well.

I'm also going to sculpt a second set of lower mandibles that have more of a Toothy, P2 look to them. That way the mask can be offered up in different varieties.

I've got some Dreads in the works as well, but that's taking a back seat at the moment.

I appreciate the vote of confidence and I'll be sure to make note when and if I get some up for sale.

Cheers.

Hey man,

Long time, no update o_O where you been??

That is one awesome sculpt you got there. Smashing details you have added, you have really brought the beasty to life

Hey, thanks a lot Dark Creations! I appreciate the kind words.

And Hunted, I know... I know. I've been slacking but have some huge changes coming up in the real world. It's going to be an exciting New Year. I'm loving your new sculpt buddy. I'm slow as molasses, so you'll probably have it done, painted and be onto the next one by the time I get my ass in gear. :p I'll race you!! As always though, your support means a lot man. Thanks!

Thanks a lot guys.

I'm really not a huge fan of the toothier looks, but to each their own. That's why I figured I'd throw that option out there as well. Roughed the new mandibles out last night. I'll clean them up when I get home and get some pictures up soon,

Hunted- It's on like Donkey Kong! :D

Sculpt is officially Finished and Sealed with Crystal Clear.

I'm building supports for the mold walls right now and if all goes well, I'll get this sucker under UltraCal tomorrow evening. Cross your fingers for me!!

Here's the final 360. I didn't get around to taking pictures of the new lower mandibles, but I'll take some before I start molding. I also couldn't get my hands on a better camera but I did get some shots out in the sunlight which help showcase the details and textures a bit better.

Haha, I'm a true Canadian and spent most of the day outside in Shorts and a T-Shirt. It was a gorgeous day, we've been having incredible weather lately. Hopefully it stays that way, Predators don't like the cold and I can't afford to go snowboarding! The remainder of the project will be done in a garage though.

Thanks a lot though buddy. I'm getting anxious and excited. This will be my first time molding something of this size and I'd prefer not to f*#$ it up.

So, I had everything laid out neat and tidy- mold wall supports in place, water clay for mold walls, UltraCal, burlap, mixing buckets and all the other fixins in place so that I could start molding as soon as work let out today. But plans changed slightly...

A Coworker who has been following my build asked today, if he could commission a Resin Copy of my sculpt. So after discussing how the process works and the materials and costs necessary, he's still interested in possibly covering the costs for the mold and resin in return for a painted casting. As I'm doing this mainly for experience, it could be too good of a deal to pass up.

I've got to come up with an accurate estimate of costs before we go ahead with the whole thing. So while I'm not getting my hopes up too high, I am pretty exited at the possibility.

I just wanted to share this mini turn of events and I'll be sure to let everyone know what comes of it. If it all falls through, UltraCal molding will resume ASAP.

This Beast looks hot, great job! :) I am jealous about snowboarding, at this winter here in Hungary absolute no snowing,i wonder where are those winters when was 1m high snow falls...maybe Viktor Orban steal those damn snowclouds from the sky also...

Haha, thanks a lot wulwhite. That's a bummer about the snow situation. I'm not a huge fan of winter, but the occasional snowboarding trip makes it tolerable.

Still waiting on a few things, but aiming to order materials this week in regards to the Resin Castings.

In the mean time, I've whipped up some Quills. Pretty happy with how they've turned out. Just need to stream line the process a little but I plan on making a whole butt load more.

I have a few extras up for sale here:

Just trying to keep myself entertained while I get the molding thing sorted out. Luckily though, it's led to finding an amazing new distributor with tons of fun new products for me to get my hands on.

They're some pretty awesome looking quills. I noticed the queens head in the sizing image, is that a 10p coin I see???? lol Nice one, will defiantly be keeping your sale thread in mind
