TK409 Tusken 2.0

A couple years ago I built my first Tusken using a Studio Creations head. That's the one that's currently up on my site. This time I made a more accurate type head, made a new respirator, new gaffi stick and robes. I documented a lot of the build with videos and I'll upload that stuff asap. The video tutorial will include how I made the Gaffi club end from scratch for about $15. No sculpting necessary!

I know there are a few things I need to fix on this outift:
1. tuck in the neck better
2. weather the robes more
3. cut a hole in the mouth to breathe
4. add eye screens

Let me know what you think and if there's anything else you'd change.
Thanks!

Crikey! :eek Damn Chris, that looks awesome! Pretty scary, actually. And what a great backdrop for the photos.

Since you asked for feedback, the only thing that jumps out at me is the position of the silver thingy atop the trianglular mouth. Instead of it being positioned straight at 12:00 atop the triangle, it appears to be tilting left in a position around 11:58. I know those 2 minutes don't sound like much, but it is noticeable as being "off", IMHO. However, pictures can be deceiving, so if it looks straight to you in person, then nevermind the suggestion.

Fantastic job! Downright scary. (Where on earth did you take these pics?)

Haha, nice!

I'll be posting an tutorial on the gaffi stick. It's not a tire, I carved it out of wood. It's really easy - all you need is a dremel and a triangle file. Also, the pointy part is done by heating up a piece of styrene with a heat gun, then pushing a wooden dowel down into it. Pics & video coming soon!

A tire was my first guess too. Wrongo! Chris you amaze me by how you can make amazing costumes on a tight budget.

Another top notch costume. The hard work that you put into them really shows. Again, great job with the poses and the pictures, I'm envious of your skills!

Thanks guys. This was at a construction site near my house. Great for Beggar's Canyon photoshoots.

Updated photo at the top of the thread ;)

OK, not a tire. I stand corrected and bow my head in abject shame. Let the floggings begin.

(LOOKS like a tire!)

Great work regardless.

Rick

Mm, maybe I'LL use a tire...:lol

Awesome ! LOL! i came up with the tire idea alooong time ago. It just always reminded me of an rc tire. I couldn't understand why noone ever used one.:lol
Your Tuskens kick butt Chris! Can't wait to see the tutorial.

I'm sculpting a undermask for mine. I have the resin eyes, tusks, tooth and horns from a board member. I'll probably go the thick latex route. Like the Godzilla kit uses. I had a Godzilla kit and where i mounted the horns i also was able to secure the hard hatliner. Very secure. No glue needed.

That's an awesome costume. I remember seeing your C3-PO here in Boston and I was blown away by it. Now your tusken will be my standard to compare others by!
