Well guys I’ve been searching for 2 days with zero luck..
I think the control box is a wall light switch... you can see where the 2 screws that’s are holding it to the flash are, are in the same location a electrical outlet/switch is
I found some vintage General Electric switch’s through google image search, some of which have the 2 raised rails.. but I don’t know if it’s raised rails anymore or a big black box on top of a box...

I've seen folks use a key ring that comes apart into two pieces, I think Kurtyboy used one, at least. I'll try and find a pic of one for you...

EDIT: Holy Bejeezus, some day I'll figure out how this new-fangled forum works! Editng posts is a headache, and even typing them out on the phone is just terrible! Is anyone else having stuff go crazy when you try to auto-correct a word and it doesn't do it, and you go in and try to manually change the text to spell out the word you want, and the sentence after that becomes a mess?! ANYWAY, it's a little frustrating!

My first thought was some kind of relay or switch.
The whole control box or just the box on top of it
One side looks smooth the other side I have no idea what’s going on
I made this just to try and see whats what and wrap my brain around what im seeing. Excuse the messyness. Didn't really make it to show. I don't claim its correct and I know its scale is out. Its what I see at this time. I needed something to input into my brain and your mileage may vary. lol
