Tintin - Moonrocket 3,5ft high

Hey guys,

I pick up the rockets on thursday late afternoon. I work parttime in a different city now, so that's the first available moment i could squeeze in. So pix and shipping soon after that.

Cheers,

Wasili

Hey guys,

I picked up one of the rockets (didn't have the space for two in the car). It's now at the house. I'll be back again on thursday to take the pix and ship off the rocket to Jiminydog.

Cheers,

Wasili

Been waiting on this...

OK, so, another week comes and goes with, really, nothing but words. :(

My rocket has passed how many shipping dates now? Hope Jiminydog isn't holding his breath. You couldn't find time for ONE quick snap?!

Seriously, wasili, it goes against the grain to be this unpleasant - but that should have been a priority. What part of that isn't obvious?!!

Forgive me for venting a bit here but if you'd managed just one single shot, I wouldn't be snarking.

My 50th birthday is coming up very soon, it would be fantastic to get the rocket before I turn THAT old....! (Suddenly occurs to me I was 48 when I bought it!)

Hey guys,

Here's Jiminydog's rocket. As promised to the both of you, i've assembled the parts free of charge as a small token for your long wait. And long it has been.

Just a headsup, both hull halves are white tinted epoxy, the wings were cast pu resin. The wings were less than stellar, and had a few bumps and bubbles, so i sprayed some filler coats and added some polyfiller. You'll have to do the rest yourself, but i'm sure two talented gents as yourself are able to.

Jiminy's rocket goes out probably tuesday, Nwerke's rocket i'll be picking up maybe next weekend. I'll pm tracking # once shipped.

Cheers, and all my best,

Wasili

Looks awesome! What great news on a rainy Monday morning. I got a kid about the same age, who should be pretty excited to see this too. And god no worries that I should have to do a little modeling work on this beauty!

And did mine get picked up? :p

Pic = golden. Thanks for that, even though it's JDs not mine, still reassuring. It's a great bit of work and a bit of sanding and filling is no drama at all.

Mr. Jiminydog, you have a PM :)..

Or in other words. Your rocket has shipped....One down, one to go...

Mr. Nwerke, you're next. Hopefully i'll get it out to you this weekend.

Cheers,

Wasili

woo hoo! might even get here before my birthday!

Now we'll see what Customs thinks of a giant rocket-shaped object being shipped in from overseas... :lol

hehe.

now you know why i wrote down "classic spaceship model" as a description on the shipping receipt, and not "moonROCKET". I'm sure they would be whipping out them guns as soon as they read that.

Cheers,

Wasili

It's here, it's here, it's here!! Arrived safely and in one piece, looks gorgeous.

Thanks for this, wasili.

One question, since there are no gridlines: do you have the height measurement of the checkerboard squares from the one you painted up? Gonna have to plot that out...

(y)thumbsup:thumbsup Very happy to hear it arrived safely. No weird dents in the box, or "opened by customs" stickers ?

I'll send you the measurements of the gridlines. Didn't think to include them. Stupid of me...

Cheers,

Wasili
