Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland Costumes

Whatever it is you're doing... Don't stop! That looks amazing!!:thumbsup
Hey everyone,

I hope it's okay to post this here. I know it isn't exactly what you guys do, but I need some feedback and the guys over on onesixthwarrior.com don't exactly like Burton's Alice. I'm in the middle of revamping the Hatter's vest and have one side done. I'm trying to get as close to SA as possible, though I'm limited because of scale. :( Thanks in advance.

Just thought I would share this. This is me messing around at a costume shop last year before halloween and is the reason why I decided to do this costume. haha.

That's the first time I seen the peacock pin with that color scheme... I was going to make mine off of this one... LOL

That's the pic I used for my peacock feather pin too. I like this color scheme more than the red/blue one. I use DMC floss, 554 for the lavender, 471 for the moss green, and 776 for the pink. I also use a button for the center jewel.

So I went to our local Party City and Halloween America store to look at the official Disney Mad Hatter costume pieces. I was very disappointed by the wig and the eyebrows. The wig is very flat and has no volume to it. It also looks very synthetic. The eyebrows are a much darker shade than the wig and they don't even have a mesh back for proper adhesive attachment. I didn't see the hat pins and was wondering if any of the MHs out there have them or seen them. Are they made of plastic or metal? Are thy to scale or are they much smaller? It seems the Art Deco hat pin is much smaller and the gemstone on top is mounted incorrectly.
Overall I wasn't too impressed by the quality for the official licensed pieces.

Hi Haven't been on in a while. I know a bunch of you saw us at comic con but here are some pics of our battle gear.

Hey, how is everybody planning on pasting the orange eyebrows to ower own eyebrows?????? I went to Sally´s and the girl there had no clue about an eyebrow´s glue???

We used spirit gum. :) Cheap, available, easy, easy to remove ( no, it doesn't pull out any of your own eyebrow hair..........not that I know of. I'm not the one wearing them... but Travis' eyebrows don't seem to have changed after multiple uses of this method. haha ).

:lol Travis the lab rat? :p ;)

Speaking of eyebrows....Since I have the funny guy wig...I need eyebrows still. I'd like to make them out of the wig where it needs to be cut. However.....How would I do that? :lol Like....How did you guys back them, sew them, etc?

Im planning on doing my own by buying some of that orange furr that you can get a local fabric store, cause none of the ones they have in ebay are exactly SA, cause they are straight and the hair from your own wig, will be curly, but will it match the orange color of both???

Wonderful, wonderful costumes! I'm currently making a Mad Hatter costume. It's a challenge for sure, but the satisfaction when it's finished will make it all worth it!

It was very messy but I used white craft glue and kinda brushed it over a piece with my fingers, added some more and then glued again, some loose hairs off to the side... the glue dries clear so it all stays together. :)

You could also buy some mesh/netting and hand tie them...but i do NOT have the patience for that. At all. :| Or the precision.

second round of hat making... this one is for Jodo :)

brim needs some minor reshaping after it dries... didn't want to mess with it too much while it was still tacky to the touch.
