Jodo i'll take one of those bandoliers if you err..find they clog up your place lol. Just no tropical spiders please they'll bully our ones :p

Do we have any close-up pics of the chain itself? i'm keeping an eye out in town today so it'd help. Thanks chaps!

And I have still forgotten to add:
If someone is going to do an exact copy of a hat, Johnny Depp's height is 5"11"(or 177cm)

Oh,sorry,yes,I mean height.Just edit it now.Thanks.
And I get from my director contacts of Agency of Colleen Atwood.
Somebody here is interested in it?
I can write here.
I consider that if somebody learns what fabrics have been used in the originals and who has made a Mad Hatter's hat(or where they get fabric for it), to us it will be much easier.
I have still a couple of addresses and numbers of such designers, as Penny Rose (POTC triology, Prince of Persia:Sands of Time), Isis Mussenden (Narnia films), Gabriella Pescucci (Van Helsing movie) and Trisha Biggar (Star Wars prequels).

I'm new to the boards, just finished watching Alice an Wonderland and would love to do a Mad Hatter costume.

Researching and reference hunting has begun

Becuase I'm feeling kinky...lets talk about chains. :lol

What kind of chain is the zoot chain? And is it the same kind as the chain that is on the back? Because I'm getting confused. :lol

I'm fairly certain it's like this, right :
bandolier.jpg

best drawing ever, huh? :lol

But I see the El Capitan pictures showing little ball chain for the back. So is the zoot chain, and the back chain the same type? Looks like there are a few ways they did it...Or presented it anyway.

EDIT - Check out the little dude in the diagram being hung to death. :lol :p ;)

Gah.
By the time I could get my default printer set up, it already said "You have printed this coupon the maximum number of times you are allowed."

print screen and paste into paint... >_> or will it not show it anymore? would you like me to do it for you and send it your way? :)

i bought mine off Cineplex since us Canadians get 1000 scene points...which gets us a free combo at the movies...worth $15. Sorry! So OT. XD

Umm...costume front....not much going on here. haven't touched my sewing machine since my best and most loved little friend ( my cat, Oliver ) passed away. :( still haven't come to grips that when I'm cutting out fabric she won't be there walking all over it like she normally did. ugh.

i think my next endeavor though is red Alice and blue hatter. can't come up with anything better for Halloween and at least this year, people will know what we are. :)

Haha, thanks man, I usually add my own touches into every costume I do. I would have gone for the SA pattern but that thing isnt showing off enough shirt IMHO and I want more shirt! haha.

Jodo-

For an amateur costumer. Do you think the bandoiler (sp?) would be a good starting piece? Are most people starting with the hat? I'm a just beginner and looking for some advice. There are lots of people in my 501st garrison that are really great with costuming and I'm very interested. I think it was one of my garrison members that actually sent me to these forums.

nickytea-

I see you're from Sarasota. I went to Ringling a while back.

Spooky, the bandolier is proboly a a good place to start, you just have to find the spools first, LOL. But have you hit up Goodwill, etc. for pants? That's a very simple place to start IMO. :)

This is my list of things I still need to do :

Spool Baldric Chain
Vest
Buy Coat
Fingerless Gloves
Socks
Boots
Pink Handkerchief
Blue Thimble
Red Thimble

I've already asked this, and probably I even got answered, but I could have missed it...

What is the approx size of the spools used on the bandolier?
I know they vary a little in size from each other, but approximately?
They looks pretty tiny, ands I've seen bandolier replicas with spools way to big, so I'm asking... Thanks:)

Added my buttons. I loved the way these looked and I know its not SA but we have gone over this anyway... haha. Any thoughts? should I add lapels? Or not?
