Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland Costumes

"Glowinjodo" UM? :lol :p

Still can't get over the pictures...Can't wait for the DVD to come out. :D

Did I ever mention that the city will be playing AIW towards Halloween at our band shell here? I'm sure I'll have nearly evrything done by then, so I plan to attend.

Right I promised pictures but unfortunately for now..there is none, not until I upgrade anyway and this means i'm waiting on the postie ±_± but atleast it'll include the right SA pins.

I do have a question however that maybe one of you spiffing spiffatious gentlemen or gentlelasses could help me with? The hatters boot's..where can they be found? And is that pink ribbon around his hat a scarf? or a special cut?

By the way..I plan on growing and using my own hair dyed :)

Shoes are hit or miss mate. There is one area in this thread in which I asked people to post their sources. ACME is custom made, others found them in Surplus Stores, others on the Internet. The best choice are the ones that I posted pics of. I'll find it after this post.

The hat scarf is just a hat scarf. Aout 6 feet long and 8 inches wide. Some people sewed on the trim on the end while others cut the material and picked it apart to get the more SA look.

If you need pics just PM me mate!

mine are Justin lace up cowboy boots

and for the scarf the best to use is either satin or silk. they look best and fray the way they should

I'm starting to get the inclination to put together an imprisoned apron-wearing Hatter for the Comic Con tea party. :lol

I had originally just planned on my Sherlock for SDCC, but that certainly wouldn't be appropriate for tea, would it?

haha, im way ahead of you Nick
ive been working on my apron just for it XD
it should be done soon
ive just been working on some big stuff first ^^

though i wont be wearing a blue shirt
im not about to go change my costume, ill just take off the coat and put on my apron XP

this just in

Great vest!! Impressive :) How many different vests/coats does the Hatter actually have? I'm going for the dark blue suede looking blazer with the kilt..someones got to sport a manly skirt!:lol

If I were going I would wear a pretty dress.

Anyway.....

Got evry single spool I have out, and I have EXACTLY...EXACTLY...Enough to make 3 bandoliers. But now I have to be aware that spiders love to live inside the little holes. LOL.

Excellent news (for me anyway, LOL.); I went through all my mom's thread, and I found near matches for each one of the colors, aside from one. :D

hahah, besides nick, im exited to see how your Holmes costume turns out

as for you Jodo, listen when i talk
used an electic drill, you could finsh all these in a day. tis awesome

and Stuart
he has 2, the red velvet and the checkered one the red Velvet is the easiest cause cause there's less going on with it

LOL, I'm keeping that in mind. ;) :p

Just gotta make sure I can use them, they aren't mine. :lol

What did you guys do to keep the thread from unraveling again? I thought about just a speck of glue on the back side, so there would be enough to be loose on the other side of each spool.

EDIT - Forgot to mention above, I realy like your new vest!

thanks, just got the other half, the lapel and the back to do -_-;

and glue works
i also used a knife to cut a slit in the edge of the spool so i could slip the thread in, like on a regular plastic spool

so if i needed to i could unravel some

Oh,you gus - all Rock!)

So,what I want to say..
I have unintentionally come on flickr.com to look something brand new and have found that..
FIDM have AIW fashion show!

All that I can tell, it that the Mad Hatter's main brown costume(without hat and wig - it's horrible!Because Hatter's costume without hat - it's not a Hatter) looks very poorly against other hero costumes. There is battle Hatter's costume too and again without hat and wig, which is not good(I think that they will return hats and wigs on their places)
Exhibition in SDCC and in Expo were much better, than that at present occurs in FIDM.

Ahh, good idea about the slit in the spools!

Selina, hadn't seen those before either! Thanks for sharing!

Also, after two hours of me and my mom using her sewing machine, and her "homemade" attachments we rigged up, I now have color. :D :lol

Ran out of a few colors, but I like them. :D Most, if not all of them are even vintage thread. :D The peices of blue painters tape are the numbers, to make them easy to arrange and store in bags. :p
