Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland Costumes

Question for you guys who know more about fabrics, but on the white queens throne... how would you approach the emblem on the backing? Maybe an applique?

Wow, that black mesh on the shirt above the bodice in the Red Queen's costume looks just like that mesh that is laid over the checkered squares on the hatter's waistcoat.

I know this particular stitch has a name and it is probably one of the most easiest things to stitch but it is stumping me right now!!! Does anyone know the name? Some sort of endless loop stitch? Pink embroidery thread or the red one like on the Hero costume....

I did my first outting in the Alice Armor. It was at a fairly large local con. Lots of people dress up and each year the quality of the costumes on those who are not there as volunteers like we are as the 501st, just gets better and better. There were tons of great stuff but I was the ONLY one from that movie. There were 2 Mad Hatters that were old school, cartoon-ish looking versions which were cool, but none of the new Hatter or any other character. I was so surprised! I figured it would be flooded with different versions of the new Mad Hatter and Red Queen etc.

Think that might be the stem stitch......could be outline stitich....
the difference between them is that they are worked on different sides of the line/mark. The stem stitch, each stitch is more defined, I think that's what's in the picture...the outline stitch is more fluid and the stitches kinda roll together to create a smoother line--outline-- than the stem stitch........

You figure if you are licensed by Disney to represent the movie costumes you would try your best to get close enough to the real versions. Not bad but once again not good! I guess you get what you pay for.........! :confused

Ahhh, the coat shape is ok....And I'd like to be able to see the hat more..But evrything else looks like it was made from those plastic kites at Walmart.

hey i was wondering, (back on track with the turbin pin)
how many of you have mad one, i wanna see everyones, im gonna try my hand at it and id like to see all your different methods

and i just thought of someting, if the chain stich is the one to use how do you hold the two halves together

it almost seams like if you used the loop one it would work. i dont know, it may take some expirementing

I'll post near completed pics tonight. Unfortunately I am on my third version. First I tried to use the plastic embroidery sheet (thick stuff) but it didn't work so now I ma using the thin clothe embroidery material and using 3M glue to cover them up with black material. After that I draw in the approximate flare lines of the three colors and go from there.

I've been looking at this place to get the coat and tie. Not 100% accurate but for the price it's worth it I think. My friend is planning on getting the AIW blue dress real soon. Anyone here get one yet?

i have bought the tie and coat and for the price its verry good, im also thinking about buying the pants but idk yet, the customer service is ok,
i would post picks but sadly my camera is broken , and also the dress looks fantastic in terms of the price

Thanks for the vote of confidence. Never ordered from them but looks much better than some of the other places. Not counting the screen accurate version offered here.
