Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland Costumes

I made the screen accurate alice dress there, as well as the 2nd Hatter costume standing next to the queen, which won 1st place in the costume contest. Do you recognize the tie, Fatal old boy....?

Also, I don't know how many of you all out there have one of Fatal's ties, BUT LET ME TELL YOU: these things are ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE under a black light. seriously.

Chad!!! Nice work!!!! When I saw those I was quite impressed, I had no idea you made them! And I still have no idea how you had the time to do those and all of your own groups'. @_@ Very, very good job!

Did you create the template in Adobe Illustrator? Probably in TIF would be the best although it will be rather large.:love
I ca re-create it easily in Illustrator, I just did it in Photoshop, and I can surely export it in TIF...
Actually I think I could place it over a top hat sewing pattern (if I could find it, and tweak it to a decent MH hat... But that's another story I guess...)

By the way let me know if you'll need it, cause I have no problem giving it away, but surely I won't mind having a copy of the "result" to make an hat myself!:lol

BTW, it's just a 'decent' pattern so far, not 100% accurate yet (it's hard to see through some of the gold embroidery...)

I think I have nailed down a decent lace pattern for the hat... What would be the best file format for laser-cutting it?:)
Because I want to give it to you all, but I want to know what would be the best format first:)

use what ever youre comfortable with. the laser engravers
will be able to import it into their proprietary laser program.
I personally did mine in AI. although coral draw is also a widely accepted format.

hope this helps,
ACME

Here we go..
just to set the record straight.. there was no 1st place winner..
i know brandon wants to pump himself up to get work out of this but
let it be known at these "disney" contest there are know losers everyones a winner and everyone got a mad hatter barbie version for being chosen to
go onstage. in all honesty the cheshire cat with the huge huge face got the grand prize which was a framed picture with some film cell in it.i was happy to
get the "action figure".
besides telling you he got 1st place(truth stretching)
did he tell you he was taking credit for your work?
yes he was saying he worked hard on those costumes and deserved to be
onstage.this was at the midnight showing.
sorry but as a guy that has been slaving away,i dont feel its right
for him to stretch the truth or take credit for someone elses work or say he won the contest.

Chad i am in no way say that your costume is any less than awesome (it is awesome)and the alice embroidery is amazing.:thumbsup
but i couldnt just stand by and let costumers such as yourself be misinformed.

all the best,
ACME

no way Brandon did that?
he doesn't seem the type

hes always so nice too, now im disappointed

now about the Hot Topic hat
here it is
http://www.hottopic.com/hottopic/Accessories/Hats/Black-Lace-Top-Hat-168318.jsp

they actually work as a good inexpensive base hat
mine is made from one of these (i will be making a taller and better one once i start getting money)
ive had 3 of these so far. one is now my current hat, the other i sold to a friend for a reduced price cause he didn't have enough for me to fully dress it up so here's how his turned out

lots of gold embroidery threads and a few layers of green and brown spray paint, i made all the hatpins too (i know there not accurate but he only gave me 25 bucks to whip up some budget hatpins).
then the third one i have is currently in peaces cause the girl im making for has yet to give me the money for fabrics

OUCH, My soul. . . !
Dammit all that sucks

Ramiel, greatly looking forward to what you whip up. I've been looking into laser cut leather locally.
Great!
Then, here it is a small sample for you all to see and critique (it's just a portion over a colored background to simulate the final effect...) let me know:)

OOoooooooooooh that is lookin' MIGHTY nice!!! And it's so amazing of you to offer to share it with all of us!!! I think I'm going to have to go the route all you fantabulous pros are going and save a pretty penny for some laser cut leather as well... >_>

PS. can ANYBODY PLEASE direct me to a source where I can find flocked or swiss dotted chiffon or mesh? Preferrably in light blue... ANY help here would be greatly, immensely, muchly appreciated forever!

So are there any alice dolls/figures that the...um...dress can be removed? Thought it would make a nice additional prop for Hatter (the dress of course). I think the medicom dress can be separated but it isn't the correct one MH made.

HA! that's a hilarious and super cute idea!!! Unfortunately, all of the dolls currently out are in the Garden dress...I doubt there will be any released in the teapot dress. :( Though it would be nice if Barbie boxed her up with a couple other changes of clothes...seems like something they might do. But nobody knows when the Alice doll is being released. BOooOOoOoO ( Or if it even still is...i've only ever heard about it )

But it should be pretty easy to make a 6 inch dress, I would think. :)

>>>clip<<<<
Also I saw the film on Saturday and just fell in love with the Coat that Alice wears at the end of the film, so I am currently working on that.
Sarah

OMG, Sarah! Is it this coat? (I hope, I hope, I hope)

I've been in love with this coat since the first pics I saw of it!
I toyed around with the idea of making it, but didn't get very far.
Which ever coat it is, do start a thread and keep us posted on
your progress ~~please~~.
