Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland Costumes

I had to read it twice, and then I sounded it out loud before I quite understood what we were even talking about. :lol

OK all you Mad Hatters! Do you want your make up to be Screen Accurate and at the same time make your significant other the most happiest in the world???? (If your significant other wears makeup!)

I present to you the Urban Decay Alice In Wonderland color palette! The gal at Ulta introduced it to me after she found out what I was going for! Very helpful. Let's just say her hands looked just like the Mad Hatter's face after we were comparing colors!

The problem is that it is hard to find so you will need to go to a LARGE store to find it!

Alice in Wonderland Book Of Shadows

What a dream come true! When Disney called to ask if we would design a product for the launch of Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, we were like, “Um…. Yes!” The result is this truly amazing (and seriously collectible) Book of Shadows.

Open the palette to reveal a pop-up scene of Alice in the mushroom forest. Her “drink me” bottle discarded, she staggers past towering mushrooms, only to cross paths with a very peculiar, hookah-smoking caterpillar. A large mirror rests behind the scene – you feel as if you are transported into the film itself.

Hidden inside a secret drawer are 16 best-selling Eyeshadows, given topsy-turvy names like White Rabbit, Jabberwocky and Oraculum. Alongside them lie travel sizes of Eyeshadow Primer Potion and two 24/7 Eye Pencils. From smoky neutral eyes to flashes of hallucinogenic green and purple, the looks you can create are as endless as the rabbit hole itself. Anyone who loves Urban Decay, Tim Burton, Disney, or Alice in Wonderland absolutely MUST have this palette. Even the Mad Hatter would say this Book of Shadows delivers it all.

Fill Weight: Eyeshadows: 16 x 0.8 g e 16 x 0.03 US oz; Eyeshadow Primer Potion: 3.7ml e 0.13 US fl oz; 24/7 Eye Pencils: 2 x 0.8g e 2 x 0.03 US oz

The bad part is Sephora doesn't carry the Make Up Forever White Pan Stick in stores. I am going to check with the Hollywood and Highland but I was told that it had to be ordered online!

CJS, the only thing with the Alice palette is that the colours are a lot softer than bold like the Hatters, mainly under his right eye where it's almost a burnt sienna red...there's nothing like that in the palette. I found most of the colours in it are a bit too pastelly...especially when they're going to be applied on top of a white base, it may be hard to achieve the bright, boldness of his makeup.

...

does this scare anyone as much as it scares me?

I was going to make a quip about him feeling blue but I think just think it might be the opposite...someone said he channels a bit of Linda Blair during his futterwacken...yeah! I can see that here! *hides*

Oh, and check out THIS BEAUTY! :LOL ROFL

Okay, I can't keep editing and posting screenshots: everyone should just watch this 5 minute behind the scenes clip with several new clips in it. :D

I haven't put buttons on mine yet so...WOO HOO! Thanks for pointing it out. ;) Travis came over in the middle of my repeat viewings and I didn't get to fullscreen and cap everything I wanted since he's hardcore anti-spoilers...and to him, seeing anything other than the trailer is a 'spoiler'. LOL

There are a few new clips too...one of the tea party, one of the RQ and one of the WQ all INCREDIBLE ( and incredibly hilarious...I think I watched the tea party one like 5 times and still laughed ).

im just glad i planed on making a second and better vest from the beginning
so i can easily change it and it shall be perfection

Ok, here's some more pic-spamming from me...

1) What the...Does Johnny actually have a snaggletooth like that!?

Also, did anyone else notice that his hair is WAY more fluffy-frizzy-matted in this scene than in some of the others where it's more distinct waves? Again, I have to stress how much I LOVE this costume because of the intense variety shown throughout the movie.

On that note:
2) here's a shot of the lace from the tea party scene, too, which is significantly different than the promo shots.

For anyone who watched this clip...Good Lord. This is my favourite moment in the movie and I haven't even seen it but I KNOW IT! I can NOT watch this part without bursting out laughing! :lol

And
3) a GREAT shot for the actually quite elaborate makeup job he's got going on. Travis is going to HATE this. He's so bad at letting me put eyeliner on him. Muahahahaha!!

Oh, and about hair, too...his eyebrows definitely noticeably flourish throughout the movie...customization for all! *does a little dance*

would somebody for the love of god pause right when he turns his head so we can all see once and for all what the peacock pin looks like in the movie? I keep trying but dammit all I guess I haven't the right mouse or...tech...or.....something. . .

IIIIIII will do it!

That's the best it gets in that clip...

Basically, though, its: coral, black beads, blue, black beads, green, black beads, coral, big fat gem. I think this goes without saying too, but the embroidered piece is meant to be the 'eye' of the feather, it doesn't just have feathery bits sticking out the top. It's meant to be a single feather with an embroidered eye. So if you have one, just stick it over top ( or the feather in between, rather, since the embroidered part is double sided ). That sounds a lot more confusing than I mean it to...

My friend has that eyeshadow pallete and while it really is lovely....it's difficult to use with that much sparkles in it. They tend to fall everywhere but on your eyes she said. She still loves it though.....it's just one of those things that you have to put on and then clean up your face after.

Aelynn, this is gonna sound retarded, but I love reading through your posts. :lol

EDIT - If I let my hair grow out another...say...inch n' a half I could do the long haired hatter. :lol I'm serious!

Have you seen the Mad Hatter pic on the cover of Entertainment Weekly? (due out tomorrow 2-25-10) It's rather BRIGHT the colors.

Also, caught the little bit that was on Entertainment Tonight interview with JD and TB....and some clips of the movie--said something about Mad Hatter's look changed with every new "feeling" or something, JD described the Mad Hatter as a "human mood ring"
http://www.thecelebritytruth.com/johnny-depp-mad-hatter-character-human-mood-ring/0014394
.......and I'm just curious, which look you guys are going for and how ya gonna decide :confused
