Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland Costumes

Did anyone go to D23 or where they displayed the Alice in Wonderland props? I am trying to figure out how big the White Queens Mace is.

Eli, PM me your email & I'll send you full sized pics of whatever I've got of it.
I know I took at least one picture of everything, I'm sure I must have 2 or 3 of this.

I have pictures of her dress from Comic con, lemme know if'n you want them.

That would be awesome, you can send them to my e-mail princessleia911@gmail.com

Omg I would LOVE to see you do that, you'd be gorgeous as her. (You and me both, SW'ed out...clone warsed out really lol). I too can send you a slew of hi-def ref pics we got at SDCC, including some really detailed shots of the necklace. The more ref pics people can send your way the better! :)
You thinking to do this maybe for D*Con?

Any pics you have would be great too ;) Yeah I am def thinking for DragonCon this year...like I said I am on the lookout for some more costumes I can do there other than SW and new ones too. Already did WW and SV Lois and will do those again but you know how we love the new. Did I see that you are trying to do an armored Alice? "We have our champion."

Sweet, you gonna get Dooks in a Hatter of his own? If not we'll get you and Toby together for pics.

Man I would love to do the armor but I just don't have space in my costume schedule... My friend Sami's doing the opening dress (I posted a pic of it earlier in the thread)so I can live vicariously through her lol, but my D*Con schedule is already overbooked (and Cyn has managed to con me into being Chloe in your Smallville group. :lol ) I really want to do the armor, but I just don't see it being feasible this year.

...That and I have no experience making armor! :confused

Appears to be a two handed sword. I am currently looking into wood frame covered with fiberglass and shaped as best as possible to the prop. The blade appears very flat from many of the pics of it hanging on the wall.

There are a few YouTube viddies on how to make a sword from wood including design, shaping, and fiberglassing. I am also looking at the creation of the shield. Unfortunately the shield is far to ornate but it is a possibility!

You can always go to Sword and Stone and see if you can commission one from them similar to the Spack Jarrow sword!

Luckily for me, I have an extremely talented metal shop in my family, looks like some good old fashioned Rebar and welding is going to happen. If all goes according to plan I wouldn't mind selling some, if anybody has pictures please send them over!

Ha, Dooks in the Hatter...probably not:lol Yeah I heard that last year but not this year....is she doing Lana(not sure if you know the story about the last one :wacko)? And oh which Chloe are you doing?

You could always make some sweet armor out of craft foam...and this looks like the perfect thing to use craft foam on but you so need to work on that for like NYCC or something ;)

I think I found a scource for Chad's wig that he has, just waiting to hear back from Chad to make sure it's the right one. :D I went ahead and ordered one just in case though! :D

just went to the Burton exhibit at the MOMA...don't waste ur money...way too much art sketches, hardly anything form the movies ... and not a single Alice item. Really disappointing.

Haha hell if I know what one I'm doing, I don't watch the show. :lol Ask Cyn, she's got plans for me. And no I have not heard the story, you'll have to msg me somewhere and tell me...

With direction I might be able to do it, but I'm totally in the dark otherwise. And oh that's right, NYCC is like a million months away this year instead of right smack dab in the middle of off season to make it more difficult for everyone. :rolleyes Maybe if I get my SDCC and D*C stuff finished I could squeeze it into my schedule, money depending after I pay for all my vacations this year in advance lol. I've heard of the practice of using craft foam for armor, but how does that actually work? And the chainmaille under her armor looks rather odd. Pretty, but odd.

Alice stuff or not, I'm considering taking a jaunt down to NYC myself to see MOMA anyways, I hear they do have a few costume goodies from other movies I'd love to see. I've heard conflicting stories about being able to take pics....

Looks pretty good there Chad. :)

Frak me running; that's a nice hat! :D :eek

What'd you do for the eyebrows?

I used Crepe Hair, its often used to make beards and such onstage. I had some left over from our production of "Beauty and the Beast."

And thank you, I too am quite fond of the hat lol.

I see what you mean about the edge of your hat brim. Might want to try to pound that out or something, have that edge a little less bumpy.
Am I seeing things, or do I see a seam around the inner area of the brim?
I also wonder why you chose to paint the leather with acrylic paint. Pick up some leather dyes for that bad boy!
