Thundercats Sword of Omens build (6/10 - first pull - w. images pg.9)

Re: Thundercats Sword of Omens build (6/7 big update w. images pg.9)

Fisrt pull from the mold! whoohoo! First casting of the sword!

Outside of one leak at the bottom (which can be fixed by bolting the mold instead of clamping), the mold worked great! The flashing needs to be cleaned off of course, but there wasn't much of it. There were only a few tiny bubbles present, but they were few and very small. VERY happy with how the mold turned out!

The last things to do on this are the gems, and casting the eye (which is already made and molded.

Looks like all of your hard work and effort really paid off!! :thumbsup ... if the cast is taking up too much space I can send you my address and take it off your hands :D

this looks phenomenal. Any chance you could shove a metal rod into the sword during the casting process to give the sword some more strength?

Ave4uevoli- yep, that's the plan! The test one was to see if the mold was working correctly, but now that that's confirmed, its on to some serious pulls. I aim to partially pour one side, glue a rod down, then pour the rest (I've done it before, tacking the rod in with crazy glue, and that's worked great!)

Hoooo! This is an amazing build! You have the skills of a true Thunderian sword smith. I can't wait to see the final results and I'm interested in possibly getting in on the run when you have some available. My mind is blown. You sword is sick!!

I'm in for a copy as soon as you start making them as well, so if you have a list, consider another one sold! :)

Hey Feveron,

Wondering if there were any updates available since the last pics of the initial pull. I know a lot of us are still anxiously waiting on this one.

Thanks,
