Limited Run Thunderbirds/Third Doctor Who Sonic Screwdriver Prop Limited Run. Cheap as chips

Hey guys,

Tonight I started rehashing an old project that fell by the wayside.

As some of you might know. The sonic screwdriver prop used by the third, fourth, and fifth Doctor on Doctor Who, was itself actually a re-purposed prop from the film Thunderbirds are go.

When the prop originally appeared in Thunderbirds, it looked like this

And when it first appeared on Doctor Who, it did so in it's unaltered state as a handcuff key

So, since I'm a bit obsessed with sonics, and my collection would be incomplete without on of these guys, I've decided to replicate the original prop as a one piece machined part.

Here's my new model

Now, I'd like to have one of these CNCd for myself. So, I'm going to do a small run.

The cost will be $35.00 plus shipping.

If I can get 20 people signed up, I'll pull the trigger on these and get the lathe's turning.

You did get me really excited with the heading of the thread when you mentioned Thunderbirds/Third Doctor Who Sonic Screwdriver Prop, I thought that might mean you were doing both of them as a set. I've got a few 4th Doctor Sonics but never picked up the 3rd Doctor when they were available and have since regretted it.

Will these be solid or are you going to have it hollow on the inside? Like maybe put some electronics if one would like or not.

There wll be a small hole in the tip, but not enough for electronics. They're pretty static

What do you think the strange texture on the lower grip area is in the second picture? The band of lighting glare gets wider as it moves towards the right.
