Thor Movie Reviews

This one looks way better than Iron Man 2 did and I've seen alot of positive reviews. Hopefully they do just as well with captain america.

im glad its getting praise from the folks here. i was kinda iffy on going to see it. but now i cant wait.

I think Thor is one of those characters that were meant to be in a movie, the comics were so so the few times i got them but for a movie I think it was better source material than most.

Based on most of the reviews I've read, it seems like they skimped on some character development to fit the film into its run time. I wonder if this was a studio decision, since Branagh is a Shakespearean actor and seems like the type who revels in character development (I mean, he directed a FULL-LENGTH version of Hamlet).

Maybe the DVD/Blu-ray release will be extended to fully flesh out the film?

Jet: Can you honestly tell me there wasn't one thing you liked about the film? The entire theater got into the film. All the comedic scenes went over very well, and I suprisingly enjoyed the Warriors Three/Sif as well as Kat Denning's preformance. Anthony Hopkins killed it as always. :D

Moments went over well - but without getting into spoilers, it's a typical Marvel Movie by way of Iron Man 2 and Spiderman 1 - I didn't care for those films either. They play well, then in a few months after the Christmas morning factors wears off, people watch them again and say "Wait a minute".

Kat Denning is probably the most annoying character of any Marvel Movie - totally useless and is only there to spit out lines that take you out of any seriousness the movie builds. She was sugar in the gas tank.

I went to see it with about eight people and it sounds like our theatre was less energetic than yours.

Can't wait for this flick to get here.

Kat Dennings is yummy.

Really? Look at that face! To me she looks like she's not finished.

I guess so. (with a double post) :p

And I think she looks just fine to me. I think if it weren't for her character, the other funny moments would have fallen pretty flat.

Jet, I like you, but I view your opinion of movies like sitting next to a thrice divorced person at a wedding. Lot of teeth grinding, sweating, and fingernail digging. :)

Man the stuff pouring out of that bottle looks less like JB and more like Shampoo -

HOT pic though.

Yes, Jaimie is Sif. Her character in the film isn't sexy but heroic as a member of the group, so I didn't see her as you would outside her character.

She is hot. Did anyone see Stan lee in the movie? I know he's in the soda commercials for the movie.

Well, we all know how more than half of marriages end up.

It's okay, no one listened to me about Superman Returns, Star Trek or other impulse flicks - now most of the board seems to agree. Thor will just be another one.

Yep i said it in the Thor trailer thread, it looks like the best Marvel movie so far and gives Avengers sooo much potential. I gotta see this at the midnight showing, if not then i'll see it opening weekend at least

I saw it 3 times on Wednesday when it opened here. And again last night. And you know, it still gets me the same each viewing. It's not gonna win any Oscars, but for this fan boy it hits the spot perfectly. What I will say thought, is having seen it in both 2 and 3D, preferred the 2D. I found the 3D distracting.

I watched it in good old regular 2D and loved it, I think Brannagh was definelty a great choice and casting for Thor, Odin and Loki were spot on, not to say the rest of the cast weren't good but those 23 were really believable in their roles.

Make sure you stay until the end of the credits!!!
