This R2 unit has a bad motivator - look!

Well I was impressed up until you said they were interchangeable. We expect more from you. I fully expect you to have three working droids there.

Whew. After many, many weekends of work, plenty of cursing, and a couple-glued fingers I finally got R5 in a state that shows off his true self.
I weathered him Tatooine style and finally got all the motor drives installed and running. Next up is the fun stuff of automating some of his panels. But at least now he drives, talks, and moves.
This guy has several bad motivators.
And the 2 droid buddies taking a break after a hard day of fixing starship hyperdrives.

Thanks man, I appreciate it. I have one more R2 to finish, maybe if I clone myself that will get done. LOL I am about R2'ed out.
409, yes he should have that feature very soon. I have most of the parts here. The bang will be done on my sound board, the smoke generator is internal. Servos will open the panels. I dont have a flash producer (yet). And I am thinking of using a large strobe to emulate that.
I was trying to keep this feature indoor friendly also. So I am not planning on using any fireworks or other noisome products. I'd rather have it all controlled electrically and repeatable on demand.

Now I need to get my butt in gear and finish my R5.
I got all of the Sherrell skins panels cut out and sanded, and next I gotta JBweld them all together. Another round of bondo and sanding on the A&A head will happen this weekend as well... someday soon I'll get to where you are...

Amazing simply amazing. That has always been my dream droid to build and you did such a good job doing it. I can't wait to see how it blows it's own motivator.

Thank you, I appreciate the kind words. I couldnt of done it without the R2 builders group.
BTW, I hope to design the custom "blown motivator" electronics going as soon as I find a suitable "motivator" piece. Anyone have good screen caps of the actual motivator piece they used??? Even something close would be great to use. I cant really make it out from the smaller screen caps I have seen.
I also just thought that I might gut one of those disposable cameras and take out the small flash unit. It would be small enough to fit on the actual motivator piece so it could flash as it comes out of the pie panel.
