Okay, I didn't want to say anything until I had the piece in hand, but I now have a way to make my pattern even more accurate.
I just acquired a production-made print from Spider-Man 2, and already I've been pouring over it, discovering small details previous suit-makers have missed. Yes, these pieces were made as part of the production of the film, but never sewn together into a final suit.
Here's a picture to whet your whistles:
In the short term, I will be changing a few minor dimensions on my pattern to better match the production made pieces. But more importantly I will be using these to make my colors even more accurate.
In the long term, this will help me create what I've been calling my "Supreme Suit" which will be made exactly like this piece here. Each color will be printed onto colored lycra, to match the movies as closely as possible.
Just excited and had to share!
