TheNickFox Presents: Raimi Spider-Man Pattern - Now Even More Accurater!!! (Page 5)

Re: The Nick Fox Presents: Spider-Man Pattern Development w/ Test Print (Page 4)

SWEET!!!! That looks awesome, Nick. I really can't wait to see where this goes :D

You gonna be sewing it up yourself?

Re: The Nick Fox Presents: Spider-Man Pattern Development w/ Test Print (Page 4)

Okay, so I just saw the print for the first time in person and WOW!

The colors are actually perfect just the way they are.

I'll probably be testing a few things with it, then ordering a full print and tossing it off to a seamstress to get all sewn up.

Pictures and an interest thread tomorrow. ;)

For now, it's time to sleep.

I'm a smaller guy, so I'm actually going with a more accurate option (That there doesn't seem to be any larger equivalent of)...women's flats.

I found a set that is almost identical to the shape of Spidey's feet AND is in my size (Or the women's equivalent of it anyway)

Aqua shoes always bothered me. The chunky rubber soles just never looked right. It looked like ol' webhead was in a rush when he got dressed and threw on a pair of trainers. :lol

Okay, as promised, here are some better shots of the pattern

First, in sunlight:

And a detail shot in sunlight:

Then two with the flash, just to show how little of the color washes out. (no pink looking fabric like a lot of spidey suits have)

Let me know what you guys think.

Also, as promised...the interest thread: http://www.therpf.com/f13/spider-man-costume-print-spandex-130745/

I'm not sure if I'll be doing another run after this, but it sure feels good to finally be able to offer my work up to other fans after 7+ years of work.

@Supermanrpf:
Hey bud, what you need to do is split your pattern up into sections, within photshop, this will allow you to use the 'spherize' effect on your pattern. Once you've done this, you can jigsaw the pieces together.)

Re: The Nick Fox Presents: Spider-Man Pattern Development w/ NEW Pics! (Page 4)

Hi Nick,

I've been working on my own muscle file based on your tutorial (thank you very much for sharing your technique) and have managed to get on not too bad so far:

MyNewMuscles.jpg

and

a90e19c6.jpg

I've updated it since this (probably still got lots more tinkering :) )

Ive managed to locate a printer and the size of the sheet I've managed to get it onto is 1.58m x 2m. So thats all fine.

However...my question is this: I have completed the whole file and have made the document 200dpi. When I convert it to TIFF it makes the file size about 750mb (ish) and not 500mb as you've highlighted. Its not a huge issue really as the file was uploaded to the printers without any issues. I think I was just looking to save upload/download time and some hard drive space. Any ideas ?

Re: The Nick Fox Presents: Spider-Man Pattern Development w/ NEW Pics! (Page 4)

First of all, the file looks great! I know the time and patience that must've taken, so bravo on seeing it through that far.

As for the file size, I've found that everything down to the color you use can affect the file size. CMYK tends to be bigger than RGB, a white background takes up more space than a transparent one, etc. You may want to try flattening your layers before saving it as a TIFF to see if that makes any difference. Maybe check the different options for saving as a TIFF.

Keep tinkering and see what works for you.

Keep up the awesome work!

Re: The Nick Fox Presents: Spider-Man Pattern Development w/ NEW Pics! (Page 4)

Cheers Nick,

I'll quite happily keep it at the same size. I'll tinker with the TIFF settings.

The file is 747mb flattened, unflattened its 1.2gb. The 747mb isnt that bad to be honest and my mac is managing to keep up....just !! :rolleyes

I've been reading earlier posts on the thread about sizing up and down that HD had posted about the measurements. Im presuming it wouldn't be as simple as sizing it down as a percentage....or would it ? Stuff it, I'll give it a try, get one printed and take it from there...:lol

Thanks again for your help Nick. Im going to start on a different style of pattern, which would be more suitable for a female suit...That might be a little bit interesting.
