The Wolverine

I'm looking forward to this move but I'm not overly optimistic that it will rock. I hope I'm wrong.

Please, tell me...In which comic have you ever read where wolverine is depicted as UGLY? No ****, but he's drawn to be pretty attractive looking, just not his fashion sense. I hate to tell you, but it looks like they're making him taller in future comics and more lean like jackman is. The idea of him being 5'3 is ridiculous but that's just me...If they made him around 5'7-5'8, that'd be more believable, that's just my opinion.

Jackman said if he could shrink himself down a foot, he'd do it to come closer to the comic Wolverine haha. So this is a sequel to Origins: Wolverine, which takes place before 2000's X-Men, but has settings at Jean Grey School of Higher Learning. Wouldn't that be after Logan takes over the X-Mansion, renames it after Jean, and becomes headmaster? Idk i'm lost on the timeline:/ lol

Ya that wouldn't make sense. Unless it flashes forward and back.

At the bottom of that transcript is a photo of Logan with his bone claws again, maybe he gets stripped of his adamantium?

Logan was in Japan before he met Mariko, before the formation of the Weapon X program. I believe he was there back in WWII and Cap/Steve Rogers knew him as "Lucky Jim."

I've always assumed that since this is taking place in Japan, it's going to be a prequel story. Err... yeah, a prequel to the prequel. That's kinda silly now that I think about it.

None of the bigwigs (Len, Claremont, Byrne, etc.) could agree on Logan's height back in the day. They ranged from 5'2" to 5'6". Regardless, they've been stretching Logan in the books for decades. The X-Universe Wolverine is substantially taller than in the original imagining. I think the reimagined one is supposed to be 5'8".

I wouldn't take stuff from the Hulk #181/Giant Sized X-Men days too seriously nowadays. _THEY_ didn't know what Logan was back then. They played with the idea that Wolverine was an actual super evolved wolverine for Pete's sake. Nobody thought this short, hairy, foul mouthed, tempermental guy who smoked cigars and would (gasp) kill somebody would ever amount to anything more than a roleplayer. Certainly nobody foresaw he would become the most poular XMan and part of a money making machine for a Marvel STUDIO!

I agree that Hugh Jackman does not physically fit the role. He's just too tall. But look at the pasty dough of his physique in the Pit Fighting scene of XMen #1 and compare it with the rock he's chiseled himself into today. You're gonna tell me be isn't living that role? You want him out because he's too tall? I can't imagine anyone playing that role and acting the part any better. I'd rather see Hugh as Logan than Cruise as Reacher!

I thought it had been confirmed that this movie takes place after all previous X-men movies so therefore after the weapon x program, hence my wondering how he has his bone claws again, flashback?
