The Wolverine (Post-release)

I thought it was a good movie..... Two things.....

Name one single movie that hasn't been predictable, and two... I couldn't tell you the last time I was in a movie and didn't figure out the ending halfway through the movie.....

All of the guys whining about movies not following the comics....... Need to just stop going to watch the movies and just stick with the comics.. because none of these movies are going to be like the comic.. it just isn't possible for entertainment and time purposes. So you will never be happy with a comic movie...

After Mags takes his adamantium. Forge puts it back. For the Comic guys, Forge is one of the guys in the DofFP comics along with bishop. So he could very well have his claws back to be covered. .

Actually in the comics Magneto swiped his adamantium in X-Men #25, it was not replaced for years - and when it was it was Apocalypse who did it.

Scenic Route, Time Crimes, Life of Pi, Cloud Atlas, Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy.

Ya. That is the wolverine looking like Beast phase they tried. And it sucked

Yes, although that was a bit previous to the return of the adamantium as well. Wolverine was replaced by a skrull lookalike for some time while he agreed to become death for apocalypse in order to get his adamantium back, which incidentally had been bonded to sabretooth. See how much dumber this movie could have been? Lol

You all are such crybabies...That's all I have to say. You think too much when you watch movies and it ends up destroying it for you. I thouroughly enjoyed myself, the action and story were both great. So what if the Silver Samurai was the old man? You all cry about this when Nolan's Batman villians weren't REMOTELY like the comics? Hypocrites all of you...............

And back to the his claws being cut off, it still doesn't make sense. Yeah when he cut off Deadpool's head in Origins, the bonding wasn't 100% complete and that's how he was able to do that, but his was just meh.........They could have gotten it from his blood, his power is also transferable through his blood in the comic books. I still enjoyed it nonetheless, it was just a wtf moment to me.

Uh you do realize this IS a movie related forum right? We pick movies apart, we analyze every detail and share our thoughts. If we didn't, this would be a boring forum.

I wonder if it will be considered a financial failure since it only did 55 mil. opening. I mean if a movie that did 128 mil opening if considered a failure by some then a movie that only did a lil over a third of that surely cant be a successful movie now can it, no matter how much you like it.

Depends on production costs as well. Not to mention, just because a movie isn't considered successful by North American money standards, it can still make a fortune internationally which is why you see so many "flops" with sequels - the studio sees the ROI in the international market.

oh I know, I was just mocking someone who was complaining about another movies box office take as being a failure when it obviously isnt.

The movie only cost $120M to make and the marketing wasn't all-out for this movie. Even after the 50% cut to theaters, this movie will make back its money and then some, but I wouldn't say it's a huge financial win for Fox either. Wolverine is obviously going to keep being in future X-Men movies, but we may not see a solo movie for a long while after this.

I don't think another solo Wolverine movie is needed. That would be a bad choice to continue nearly exclusively center on him in the X-Men series or standalone films. There are so many mutants and so many stories to tell, if only they are brave enough to risk going for story and character rather than stupid action - I thought they did pretty well with The Wolverine in terms of both. Sure, it's isn't the best superhero movie, but I like it just as much as X-Men, X2, and X-Men: First Class. It was a worthy continuation in my mind... and I liked that it was rather slow and took its time with the characters and not exaggerated action and stupidity like Origins.

Just got back. It wasn't the best, but I don't regret seeing it in a theater. Had fun with it for sure, and the after credits scene was really well done.
