I managed to get into the tricorder and i now have a copy of the firmware that i can view. I dont know what good it is yet, but im currently perusing thru it... wish i knew more about this stuff

Is there a emulator available such that you could run parts of the code and or test modifications?

I removed the link to the firmware copy. Not sure about the legalities of sharing it, so im going to play it safe for now and keep it offline.
If someone wants to do what i did and make a copy of theirs, the method i used is detailed on my XDA post HERE (it wasnt easy)

Side note: If you ever have to reset your tricorder like I did, don't press in too hard on the pin when you insert it. i gave my screen some colorful little lines all down the left side. The got fainter and fainter over the next few minutes and were totally gone after half an hour, but still... Freaked me out for a bit.

I played around with a program called QEMU for a few minutes and tried to get it working, but it looks like theres a lot more to it than just trying to "mount" the bin file. Ill keep researching it.

Apparently there’s 2 ways?? to reset the tricorder from Chris B……

He doesn’t say which button……I vaguely remember on a YouTube video the very Right button? Might be worth a try if you like experimenting…

Some stuff…..from the Application Notes….below RGB666 display panel is used as an example amongst other configurations…..

A 24pin ribbon doesn’t mean all 24 lines are used…
