Well there you go, same price, $415. For all the rending of cloth, gnashing of teeth, and outright bawling about the tariffs, the uptick in price isn't very much after all. And now there will be much better availability till they truly run out... and then maybe we can hope for another run? Film at 11...

Based on the things Chris Bernardo has said over at the TWC blog, I suspect they have every intention of keeping the Tric stocked in as many channels as possible; he's no happier than we are with Amazon's nonsense.

I've had that very strong impression--Amazon has really been messing up Wand's reputation. If I had a penny for every post I've seen on FB and other places blaming Wand for an Amazon problem, I could retire.
 
Just got off the phone with Amazon. The rep (who was very hard to understand) said my order is stuck in the 'waiting for bank authorization'. WTH? I told him I had selected the 6 month no interest payment plan on my Prime card and my bank should not be involved. He said something about because its over $200, and once I get the bank authorization I should get it by Sat or Sunday.
I've never had to get authorization from my bank on a Prime card no interest purchase.. Anyone else have this issue?

Just went to my bank (just to be able to tell Amazon I did check with my bank). They had no idea what I'm talking about. This bites!

In case you feel the need to mod your Leather strap when you get it…Here’s the tricks of leather….besides possibly trimming the 3/4 width just at the ends portion (not the whole strap) that slides through the sides opening….you can also shave/sand off material for less thickness at those ends portion as well…..(there are vids for this procedure)

Keep in mind….mod’ding on the leather at the point of sides opening and below to the screws… will never be visible to someone’s eyes. I highly doubt Joe Blow on the street is gonna want you to take off the sides of your Tricorder … hahaha

The one I have on is 3/4 (19mm) and it isn't an issue provided the leather isn't too thick.
This one is reported to be 1.8mm thick and seems to go through the trike slots fine at 5/8 so we should be okay (famous last words)

I've bought one at 3/4 width too, saves me having to focus on getting some of the ones I have stitched for now and I can turn my attention to getting a couple looking season 1 strap like instead :cool:

Nice info, perhaps I'll start leather tooling hehe.
In years to come, people will make replicas of our modded leather straps :lol:
 
So I’ve pulled the trigger on a 1st season leather strap style … the website is buckleguy.com

I actually ordered 2 since I have 2 Tricorder’s….

I may have to shave the thickness since leather is sometimes uneven, depending where it’s at…will see when I get them. TWC thickness is 2.4mm.
