The Walking Dead Show Discussion - with potential spoilers

With the exception of the first episode (which I think was ok since it was the set-up), the other episodes have just flown by. This just really seemed to drag for me. If the next one moves at the same pace then I worry about the rest of the series. I haven't read the comics but the CDC thing felt really blah. That was before I read this thread of course, so I didn't know they were veering from the source material.

My one problem with the series is this...

Whenever they arrived at the CDC building, there were bodies laying around all over the place.

Now, if they had been attacked by walkers, wouldn't they be...you know, eaten?
But if they were bitten and left for dead, wouldn't they have turned into walkers by now?

But no, there's all those bodies...just laying there.

They haven't really elaborated, but most of the zombies are lazy, content to just hang out where they "died" and wait for the food to come to them, then they get up and walk around. Case in point. the one sitting on the side walk in the first episode and the ones in the various abandoned cars.

I'm not sure if I like where this is going. I thought they were going to the CDC to try to get help for the guy they left at the side of the road?

Well that and Shane should've never left the camp alive.

Of course the French were the last to fall. If you were a zombie would YOU want to eat a Frenchman unless you had to??? Bleeeccccch.

I'd expect England to fair better, as it's an island.

...zombies... nature's quitters.

I still don't get why there'd be just one guy at the CDC. It's obviously well protected (since one guy did survive all that time). What did they all have to go out for smoke breaks and get eaten? Were they out to lunch celebrating Susie's (from accounting) birthday at Chuck-e-Cheese, while this guy didn't go because of what happened with Susie at last year's Christmas party?

It's all Suzy's fault!! :lol They went out for her birthday, she forgot that vial in her pocket, it broke... Zombie madness.

TGhat episode really had a Resident Evil type of vibe to it. So far it was the highest rated episode. Dissapointed that Merle did not make an appearance. Poor Jim, I really felt for that guy:(

In the opening of the CDC guy's video log, what was the time frame that he mentioned for the outbreak? That's one of the questions that I've got stuck in my brain...

194 days since wildfire was declared... not sure what "wildfire" is...

and 63 days since the disease went global.

...I just checked the clip on AMC's site.

Good episode, though with it taking that long for the corpses to reanimate, I doubt the human race would ever have been overwhelmed.

might be a stupid question but since they are filming in and around Atlanta any chance they filmed the CDC part at the CDC? i was on the CDC website and found that they actually have a museum. the grounds and building look like it MAYBE could have been the place they filmed...

CDC - About CDC Visiting CDC

thoughts? comments? :)

I hope they don't end up going the 'evil scientist' route, given that he's lost his 'fresh meat' and all...

Sure makes it seem like Rick was in a coma for a verrrrrrrrrrry long time without immediate medical attention.
