The Walking Dead Show Discussion - with potential spoilers

Those are some incredibly large spoilers NOT hidden behind spoiler tags. It also probably violates Piracy laws... granted you're not posting the whole book, but there are definitly some issues there.

Easy killer,....I warned numerous times about spoilers, and left a gap before the text. In fact I even added '+' to make the word spoiler stand out more, then added 5 line breaks. Not to mention the title of the thread says "with potential spoilers". If you cant figure out a spoiler is below then I dunno what to tell ya. I also posted that I copied it from topless robot, heres the source link: Topless Robot - 15 Walking Dead Moments We Can't Believe We'll See on TV

As for piracy laws, Im sure Topless Robot which is a high volume site would have received a Cease & Desist and the links to the pics would be invalid, since I didnt upload the pics here. Plus Im pretty sure Topless Robot got all their pics from The Walking Dead Wiki http://walkingdead.wikia.com/wiki/The_Walking_Dead_Wiki but they didnt give them credit, although I did. Also if you are that worried about copyright laws, then perhaps this forum isnt the best for you, since people replicate props for sale but label them as "runs". Or perhaps hop in the Captain America thread and fire off a warning since scanned pages of EW were posted. Im sure you are just trying to help so thank you :)

That seems....unlikely? I mean, for all he knows his brother is there. That's pretty harsh.

but their tin can/string perimeter didn't work so well.

I know it's harsh...but think about his character. He would probaly rationalize that he could find his brother in time or that his brother can fend for himself well enough. I could easily picture Merle, allowing some walkers to follow him while hegot in the box truck. Just seems unlikely that only one walker in a very long time showing up to camp, then boom a frenzy of them.

With Rick and the others getting back to camp before Merle, by foot, I think Merle had something to do with the attack. By intention or not.

Then link to the site or post the images behind spoiler tags - not so hard.

After reading a few opinions about piracy (most notably Colleen Doran's posting last week) and the comic book industry and having personal first hand experience on the music end of it, it's a touchy subject.

You can try to justify it. But, I still think you're wrong by posting the images when you could have just posted a link... especially seeing that you're leeching the source site's bandwidth.

I am literate, I understand the term spoiler and accept that there will be spoilers on the site. I've read the Walking Dead (in trade paperback), you're not really spoiling me. But, I am aware of the fact that not everyone here wants very large images of spoilers blasted right in front of their eyes rather than the discussion that's been going. It's easy to zip past text, not so much images that could be taking up most of one's computer screen. Plus, you'll notice a lot of the discussion has taken place behind spoiler tags. They're not that hard to use... perhaps you should become more familiar with how this site functions?

Lastly, the name is not "killer," I've coming to this site regardless of copyrights for 10 years - so don't tell me what forums I should belong to.

Man, there was some stupid **** in that episode!

They build up the tension with the very effective 'tracking Merle' stuff, then blow it all to hell with the ludicrous 'saintly gang-bangers' subplot - what the hell was the point of that?

They did the whole 'family values' stuff' way better in the seige sequence in DOTD, without the outrageous cheesiness of the 'twist' here, which was utterley unbelievable and superflous in such a short season.

Then they lose their van and decided to run back??

What happened to Glenn (the stealthy guy who drives all the way back to camp with a car alarm blaring...) having mean hot-wiring skills?

And good god, what the hell was with the the hideous clunky opening dialogue on the boat that just went on forevvvvvvvver?

Added to Jim's uncanny pyschic powers and dead folk who don't re-animate (next week? Missed the moment, guys...) and that was a major clunker.

It's amazing how many times this show seems to be able to switch from awesome to awful and back in the space of a single episode. Daryl is greatness, though.

Get up, Amy, you know you want to....

I didnt mind the vatos story part. Just showing there are other cells of surviors out there doing what they have to do. The opening did go a little slow but I think that was to give Amy a little more story.

And if you saw the clips for next weeks episode you can see Amy's arm raising up on its own. I like that it can take time before the virus reanimates the dead. I never bought into someone dying then standing right back up as a zombie within seconds.

Yeah, but a whole week? :eek

How were you able to tell a week passes timewise in the storyline? When watching it appeared to be the next day unless I missed it.

Yeah, that was a gag. Like, it'll be a week till the next epi. Don't worry, I won't leave my dayjob :angel

Soo.... if you aren't enjoying the show, why are you watching it?

I am enjoying it, but also finding it extremeley frustrating when they keep slipping into bad storytelling and poor character decisions (the staple of bad horror). The action scenes are great, but the story has bareley progressed sinced the pilot, and with only six episodes and no new ones for nearly a year, the show is in danger of losing the momentum it badly needs to remain compelling.

I think a lot of people are giving the show a pass because of the 'wow' factor of well made zombie mayhem on the small screen. That won't last if it doesn't crank up a gear and get the smarts that Darabont is renowned for.

How fast do you expect it to move? I read somewhere that they might reach the jail By the end of the 1st or 2nd season. Any faster and it would pass up the comic in a few seasons.

Given the record of how long most US genre series last, that sounds fine to me.

Maybe I'd just weird, but if I was hiding from zombies, I might go somewhere with a fence.

Scott

Yeah. For that matter, why would'nt he just take them back to the jailhouse. He probaly still has guns there. There's hot water, etc. Nah, that's okay...we will just stay out in the woods, with virtualy no defense.

I'm still enjoying though:lol:thumbsup

My questions.... so they try to save Merl but he's gone. They go to head back to camp and the van is missing "Merl musta taken it!" so If Merl in fact did steal the van and he is going to rain down some woop ass on the camp. Why is it they all run back and beat him there? Is the van a stick shift and he's having a problem with the shifting? and how is it the gang of "geeks" make it there? did they come from the city and how did they get past the clever cans on strings we saw a couple episodes earlier?
The only thing I can think of is that Merl wrangled up a buch of them and drove them over in the van then let them loose. hmmmm

We'll just have to wait and see what happens Sunday... I'll be interested to see where the series goes from here, seeing that guy open the tent to the zombies got me chuckling pretty good. :thumbsup
