The Walking Dead - Season 6 Discussion

Great episode! What did you guys expect?! OF COURSE it ended on a cliffhanger. That's how they get you to keep watching. Is there any other way it could have ended?

Rick's hubris is really coming home to roost. JDM KILLED it as Negan. Every time I'm about to write the show off they pull me in again.

Slight gripe: I call BS on Daryl being the SECOND fake out this season. Lame. Just kill him already.

Kudos: Morgan finally grew a pair. Hallelujah. And even a neutered Carol can act circles around anyone else on the show.

Real tension for a change. One of the best episodes in awhile.

If Carol ex machina saves them again like it did in Terminus I will be seriously irate. And if they wrap it a whole season of expectation in one or two episodes like the did when they squandered the whole Terminus storyline I'll be double irate. But for now, my eyes will be on the screen come October.

Awesome episode. JDM made an awesome Negan.

Any of you guys ever read a book? Ever notice that chapters always end on cliff hangers?

I agree .I have to say the last few seasons they have kept me watching by having one or two good episode per season that comes around right as I am beginning to lose interest.
this season it was the episode they took out negans crew with the RPG and the fight for Alexandria . and of course I will have to return to see the cliffhanger resolved next season, but truthfully if JDM was not brought in I probably would be off the show. they got me for a few more to see how he does . I just never get excited about plots that rely on the stupidity of the characters. ( barring comedy).
Especially when what most of the last two seasons were about was preaching to the the towns people to be smart .
Lol
They acted like they need the hill top. listen to the mullet and grow the crop you need not the crops you want . I thought it was funny they passed on growing ( whatever it was mullet man told them to get) and then offered up there services for that same bland staple food they could have Just grown them selves . so they end up meeting the Negan on his terms !!!

I don't think it counts as a fake out. That a-hole who shot him said, "You'll be fine." A fake out is what happened with Glenn. We didn't get that with Daryl. If it was a fake out, then there wouldn't have been any dialogue after that. So, I don't see how it could be a fake out.

Judging by the blade staff I'd say a couple Hilltop dudes.

I'm thinking Negan needs to off a couple of the cast. One just isn't satisfying enough.

Did the wolves just disappear into the eather th be forgotten in the comics like what seems to have happened in the show ?

Didn't watch it but I've read the synopses. No surprise there. The problem with cliffhanger endings like this is when they're used on a show that has increasingly relied on gimmickry to propel audience interest and speculation, but at the expense of genuine dramatic tension. This is the reason the audience gets pissed.

People get tired of being jerked around like with the Glenn thing earlier this season. They get tired of big, eventful episodes which are followed by almost half a season of treading water. It just isn't cool anymore. It feels like cheap manipulation followed by the briefest actual development, followed by filler. Again and again and again.

The pacing on this show just sucks.

I don't think there was a group called the Wolves in the comics. There was a group that tried breaking into Alexandria, but they all got taken out. I'm not sure there were any surviving Wolves on the show, either.

I don't mind this cliffhanger at all. You had to know it was coming. With this one though, you know someone is getting their skull bashed in. The Glenn things was stupid and unnecessary.

A HORRIBLE ending to another bad season of WD.

You're crazy. That was one of the best seasons in a very long time. Like since the very beginning.

BS. I'm done..total ****** move by a show.

Do you ever watch TV? EVERY show ends EVERY season with a cliffhanger. They've done this since the beginning of storytelling

I don't see this as a fake out. Nothing like that Glenn thing. He pretty clearly shoots him in the shoulder.

Who were the dudes in riot gear and horseback?

They are straight out of the comics. Their costuming was perfect.

I agree.... "Who shot JR?"
That was the biggest buzz that summer and is STILL referenced 30 years later. Cliff hangers have been part of television history and used on so many season endings.
But what do you expect? Today the younger generations are used to getting what they want, when they want and don't recall the days of having to actually wait. The entitlement generation :lol
