The Walking Dead - Season 6 Discussion

so am I the only one that thinks Rick unknowingly killed hostages from other groups on the alien research pot factory facility raid? That would be some F'ed up ***** right there and some balls with the writing. Of course a few would have been Negans guys but the hostage majority and another under siege group forced to grow pot. From the start however there was an undertone as if Carol wasnt going to make it to the end credits.

Of course I have to complain about something, what was up with the terrible lighting in this episode? It was like interns had to take over for the week.

I certainly enjoyed the episode on a visceral level. You don't see the "heroes" attacking strangers and killing people in thier sleep with very little knowledge of who they are on TV. Ya' just don't. I was sure they would be stopped, killed, and captured before the actual attack happened. So the big shootout was a lot of fun to watch. I just didn't expect it to happen.

I like the way they are building up to Negan. Should be a lot of fun once he's on screen. The polaroids were well done. That whole scene was great IMHO.

I assume the point of the polaroid photos was to help the viewers not feel so bad that these guys were getting slaughtered in their sleep since they are the kind of sickos that like to fall asleep to pics of their victims. Just reinforcing that yes, these are certainly bad people who deserve this fate.

Although, if it turned out that they were actually hostages, that would be one hell of a perversive twist!

The polaroids where more or less trophies showing what Negan is capable of with his favorite weapon Lucille. Also pretty funny that it was Glenn who was looking at them

Man, that was a great episode. The next few are going to be hard to watch I suspect. Would beating pregnant Maggie to death be a bridge too far? Would the show risk losing viewers if they crossed that line? I can't help feeling that's where this is headed...

I feel like it might be a bit too far, but many of the cast members have gone on record stating that the finale made them "physically ill", so maybe that is where this is leading...

I keep getting the feeling it is going to be Maggie that meets Lucille, but I sincerely hope not. That would be genuinely hard to watch and process. Glenn would be hard enough to handle.

I really hope it's Daryl. Not that I dislike Daryl, but I think they could turn that situation into a very compelling story and have him somehow go out a hero.

I know a lot of people probably do not agree with what Rick and Company has done, but I agree with it. The fact is that, considering what they've gone through in the past, leaving a known threat out in the open has had the tendency to come back and bite them in the ass. Look at the Governor as an example. The only person that was still looking for the Governor months alter was Michonne and she gave up because she was guilt-tripped into it by the others. Had they continued looking, they would have found him, stopped him and stay in the prison. The same is true with Gareth and the Termites. Had they followed Rick's lead and stayed behind to finish off any survivors from Terminus, Bob would still be alive (granted he'd still have been bitten by the Walker when he was underwater, but his death wouldn't have been as horrific and painful as a result). The Wolves are another example. Morgan let them go, and they almost killed Rick. I agree that if Rick and the Alexandrians had not taken the fight to Negan, Negan and the Saviors would have turned up at Alexandra and would have either done the same thing they did at Hilltop (kill someone in front of them to prove a point) or attack Alexandra and raid it for every stitch of supplies they could muster.

The point is this: Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Only damned if you don't carries the greater consequence. Inaction leads to later problems, and sometimes death as a result.

At first I thought that might be in the direction they were heading as well. That would have been pretty chilling though.

Since Rick and co. didn't feel like doing any recon first, you know like a person with common sense, I'm thinking the Saviors are a lot bigger than they think. You don't hire the guy playing Negan to end them that fast.

I am pretty sure those were the first non-walkers that Glenn killed in the show, hence his emotional reaction.

is that what happens in the comics?

Yeah, kind of like how they butchered The Governor.
