Yes this is a live auction but this seller always has several pair up for auction at any one time. $11.95 BIN.

I just removed the straps and painted the remaining snaps black.

Those are the exact same gloves I use. Can't beat the price.

I just wanted to post that I got a flak vest from 'Nobody' today. . . wow.
Terrific workmanship overall. He really nailed all the small details on this vest. I love everything about it, from the overall pattern, to the ribbing details, and even the insertion locks on the sides. :) Well, I sent him those to install, but they look fantastic.
This is one of the nicest costume pieces I've ever commissioned, and he also maintained communication with me throughout the transaction.
This vest, combined with my Mr. Bojangles chest box, will look superb.
Thanks, Phil. :D

OK,
Pics below. My flightsuit is a modified Dickies, and the belts/straps are just webbing that I painted gray with fabric paint. Just one of the many upgrades I still have to do. Along with: new flares/flare holder, arm tools, comm pad, boots, and gloves. :D
But the new vest and chest box are leaps and bounds over my original, scratchbuilt stuff.. Thanks again Nobody and Mr. B......
Enjoy.
Eric

Thanks (again) to Wackychimp.

Any more info about pricing/availabilty/ID of "Nobody"? That's nice work. What is the material?

Jay,
'Nobody' is a member here. Didn't mean to sound cryptic about his identity. :)
The vest is a cotton material, pretty rugged, almost like a thin denim or something. I know he also offered to do one in nylon for me.

He should be floating around the board somewhere. I just PMd back and forth with him within the last couple of days.

Aren't the ribs on the Flak Vest supposed to be solid rods? They look very "soft" and curve around the body on yours. Is that how they're supposed to look? Nice Chest Box, though.

The ribs in the original vest were ment to contour to your body, and would inflate a bit putting pressure on your torso, they were pressure vests for a fligthsuit.

The vests use plastic tubbing that does still follow your body's contours when you were it.

That looks like a Damned fine vest. very nice.

I'm betting alot of people would be interested in who "Nobody" is :)

Ditto what Ed said. The tubing is supposed to have some flex.

For pics of Nobody's work, see the first page of this thread, post #10.
I just have to repeat, the craftsmanship is superb. :)

Do most people just scratch build the 'compad' on the arm?

Anyone have good reference images of Luke's ESB compad?

Anyone knows where to find (or who makes) the correct boots and gloves that Luke (x-wing pilot) wears in ESB (Hoth) ??

Hey all,
Can anyone explain or show how the big silver buckle is attached to the waist belt? I've got some webbing on order and I can't see how the buckle is attached.
Thanks for any info.
