The Ultimate X-Wing Pilot Thread

Hey, no problem. Here you have a side by side comparison:

Hope this helps, and again, I really appreciate your input.
To my eyes, that is not exactly the same perspective and that difference would hide that the sloping angle in the 3D model is a little bit too high.
Look at the button, which is pointing more upwards in the photo.
The border around the circuit board should also be a little bit thicker, I think.
But yeah, it is difficult to judge things by eye...

I Forgot to add the transparent tile on that render. If you check my previous photos, you will see the tile is about 1mm above. Imposible to set the same perspective on Fusion360. I am sorry for that. Even thought, I think my model is much better than the stuff offered right now as good

Apologies because I'm not very good with graphics. Maybe if you can position the 3D render at the same angle as the photo it may help to compare it? I tried blending the two images but they're a bit off. I traced the edges of the photo so it would stand out more.

You can see here, how they look printed. As I told you, angles could deceive.

And stay tuned, cause I am already working on the legacy one. Gathered 3 different references to create this model. Kinda stuck with the pins. Which I believe given the measurement, could not be the ones used by AT-AT drivers glove. Have to confirm that. Don't have a physical one at hand yet. There are a lot of Molex connectors to compare with.

As usual, any feedback will be welcome

You’re on the right track! Looking great!

Still looking for better image references to recreate the front connector/pins arrangement. does anybody have that Official Pix image in a better resolution?

This is what I did so far, using the images I have as references. Still not sure about the 5 pins. Stripboard is not the correct one, It is only one I had at home. Will be buying a better one next week. Any feedback will be welcome

Superb! I really appreciate those references. The missing link to my research! May I ask where did you get them? They seem from the book, but in a higher resolution. Or they were from Autographs?

So they did use stripboard! I've seen a replica use stripboard before but I've never before seen a reference picture that was detailed enough that you could see that it was correct. I used to assume that they had used a similar mesh to that of the Cloud City comm link.
